Five thousand feet below,

As black smoke engulfs the sky,

The ocean floor explodes,

Eleven mothers cry.

My bones all resonate,

A burning lullaby,

You can't take that from me,

Just go ahead and try.

She stands at the shoreline,

With hands in the air,

Her words pierce the dark night,

Does anyone care?

And all along they say it.

Help is on the way

Help is on the way

Right there in front of me.

Help is on the way.

My eyes widened at the sound of Izzy’s mother’s voice over the phone, causing me to abruptly sit up. “Lisa? What’s wrong?”

“Ash?” Amber whispered from behind me. I didn’t even look at her.

“It’s Isabelle. The doctor just called me and said she’s in the hospital.” She whimpered. “She’s having an allergic reaction to—“

“Peanuts.”  I finished in realization.

“Yes. And her father and I are in Greece right now visiting my parents and we won’t be able to go and make sure she’s alright. I was wondering if—“
