My bedroom door opening made me look up from my book, a smile immediately taking over my face as Nathan walked into my room.
I closed my book, quickly getting up from my bed and leaping towards him. I pushed my lips into his as I dragged him over towards my bed.
"Hello to you too." He chuckled as he pulled back and we sat on my bed. "How'd it go?" I hesitantly asked. Deb convinced Dan and Nathan to start doing family counselling with her. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that room.

"Exactly how you'd think it would go with my family." He sighed as he leaned back into my pillows, making me frown. "I'm sorry, baby." I leaned my chin against his chest.
"The therapist asked me if I really want to play basketball or not." I hummed as I held eye contact. "Well do you?" Deep down I know Nathan loves basketball but I think it's gotten way bigger than just a fun game. Dan's obviously pressuring him way to much if he felt he needed to take steroids. "I don't know... nobody's ever asked me that question before."

"These past few weeks without it made me realize I can actually have a life outside of basketball."
He admitted, making me nod. "I'm sure it feels like a lot of weight off your back to, with your dad." He chuckled, shaking his head.
"Not when my parents are playing tug-of-war with me." I frowned at his words, not sure of what to say so I just gave him a quick kiss.
I'm usually good at giving advice and making people feel better about their situations but I honestly have no clue where to start this time.

My parents have always been the perfect movie parents. They never fight, at least not when I'm around and they've been together since they were my age. I'd be devastated if they got a divorce but Nathan seems weirdly fine with it.

"See, who needs basketball when I could be doing this." He smirked as he pulled me up onto his lap. "Don't get to use to it, practice starts again today." I chuckled as he started to place kisses down my neck. "Yeah... I don't think I start though." My smile slightly faded but I didn't let him see it. I know Nathan loves basketball, I don't know if quitting the team is what's best for him but I just want him to be happy.

I tossed Keith a wrench as I spun around on a little stool in the garage, humming along to some rock song on the radio. "Ty." Keith's voice made my head snap towards my father as he walked in.
"Keith." He nodded before his eyes landed on me.
"You better not have messed up your car." My father joked sternly as he joined my side.
"No, Keith's just adding a few more custom pieces."

"I've been trying to get ahold of Nathan." He changed the subject making me groan as I stood up. "I'm not his keeper." I tucked my hands into the pockets of my jeans while he just gave me a look. "I just want to know what's going on in the kids head so I can help him." My father spoke as he crossed his arms. I stayed silent for a minute, it's not really my place to say anything but it is my dads team, he kind of has a right to know.
"I think he's going to quit the team."

"Are you kidding me?" He rubbed a hand over his head as he looked up at the roof.
"I talked to him about it, I told him that it's just a game." Keith spoke up, not turning his head away from my car. "You did what?" My father and I questioned at the same time as we turned to him.
Keith isn't the best person to take advice from in this case. He never really cared about basketball like my father, Dan and Nathan does.
"It's not just a game Keith, it's this kids future.
He's a damn good player."
