" I had prior commitments, sorry. I didn't know we're planning on eating out. " I reasoned, " Raincheck? "

" Oh, is that so? " Akio peeked past my shoulder, " Who's this? I feel like I've seen him before."

I nod, " It's Yamada. You've seen him in my photos. "

" Oh, right! The kid you grew up with! " He beamed, " Hii! Why don't you join us too?! I'm sure you know Haru
already! "

To be honest, this was pretty uncomfortable. I didn't want to put Yamada in this situation. With my ex-boyfriend and current whatever, and then Haru on top of that.

It would be awkward as fuck.

" Ah, sorry. But Y/n and I have a date to enjoy. I'll take up on that offer sometime else. " I bit the inside of my cheek, heart skipping a beat at Yamada's words as I look at him, a little surprised.

" You...are dating? "

Oh no...what's with Akio's mood suddenly hitting rock-bottom? Don't tell, does he seriously still has feelings for me? After all that?

" Akio, why don't we meet sometime else-"

" Yes. I'm pursuing her. "

I stop myself from hiccuping, covering my mouth to cough slightly as Akio deflates.

" Let's go. " I nod, staring at the way his hand fits around my wrist as he pulled me along. Once we're far enough, he stops and faces me, face blank but thoughtful.

" Was I too much back there? "

I shake my head, eyes slightly wide. Though I'm confused, why would he think? " No. He needed that. "

" Why does he still act like that around you? You guys broke up around five months ago. "

He nods, we resume walking as he talks. I smile, he remembers every little detail even if he isn't much of a talker.

" I'm not sure. We broke up because he claimed to like someone else, but I don't know. Maybe he's just like that around others..."

I glance at him, is he bothered? He seems pretty chill, but that's the thing about Akito. He doesn't show what he feels on his face, unless he has completely let his walls down.

" That's not it. " He mumbled as he opened the door, " It seems he's still pretty interested. "

I shrug, it wasn't my business anymore. I was over him, even if we dated for a year, long distance wouldn't work and he had suddenly told me he liked someone else.

After all, dating him had only been a reason to avoid my feelings for Akito Yamada, even if it was a selfish and mean move.

" What are we eating? I'm starving. "

" Order whatever you want. " He slid in the seat beside me instead, causing me to warm up. December was around the corner, it was getting colder so I'd rather him sit beside me too.

" Not sure. She said she'll be coming here. What about you? "

I purse my lips, " I don't wanna go, though. All family will be gathered there. It's a waste of a week worth of holidays. "

" What did your mum say? "

" She wants me to come as always. I think I'll just go for the first two days and come back. " I look at him, " We can spend some time together before Christmas? "

" No. "

I pout, " Oh...okay-"

" We can spend all the remaining time. Why just some? "

I blink, beaming. " That's great. "

I should get him a gift from there instead. Anything can be easily found here, maybe something customized?

" Are you cold? I keep noticing you're leaning on me. "

I cringe, " Ah...not a lot..."

" I'm fine-" I pause, why was I rejecting an opportunity? I shuffled closer, smiling to myself as I felt his arm wrap around me, " I should have brought an extra jacket for you. You want mine?"

" No...I like this better. "

" Mhm...is that so? " I yelped, eyes widening as I felt him kiss my neck,
" This ought to warm you up, no? "

" Hey! We're outside! " I whisper yelled, face burning. That's right, it did warm me up. He's...ugh! I huffed, covering my red cheeks while he chuckled.

My heart skipped a beat as he gently grabbed my chin, stealing a kiss from my lips before he was back to his nonchalant self while my fuse blows, body heating up in embarrassment as the waitress who came to serve us food flushed red too.

I bit my lip, ducking my face to hide it behind my scarf, damn it. DAMN IT.
