Sometime in the sixties -
Alarms blared as red lights continued to flash. Number Eight Hargreeves ran down the hall, five other pairs of feet stomping not too far behind her.
Thoughts swirled through her mind as the drug started to take effect, confusing the young woman as she tried to lose the bulky men in pursuit of her,
Her heart thumped in her chest as she rounded another corner only to be met with a dead end. Eight was losing consciousness fast while she looked around desperately for any form of escape.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck," she grumbled under her breath panicked, "Why does this always happen to me?"
She could hear the men getting closer with every one of her laboured breaths. Black dots danced in front of her eyes while she braced herself for a fight.
And then, out of the blue, she felt herself falling through the air.
Her stomach was churning with the faintly familiar feeling of power. She hadn't felt something so intense since she was a teenager.
It was Five.
