MENTOR BIO
A bit about me: I'm Alex! Born and raised in the UK. I'm from the south where other Brits call me posh, but I am totally NOT posh - though I might sound it! :P
I've been writing since I was 8 years old - anything from poetry to fanfiction (yes I started writing by writing fanfic! I just never speak about it!) and now I write ... ridiculous amounts of words per year.
I was going to be a nurse, but failed an essay and got kicked out of the course, so followed through with my love of writing and did a degree in Creative Writing - in the historic town on Winchester, UK (yeah, where they filmed The Crown on Netflix, and the old capital of England!).
Nowadays, I live by the sea in the UK with my husband and son - and 2 black cats.
A bit about my writing career: When I was 18, I was shortlisted by an old writing website and Malorie Blackman for an award for teen writers. I also interned for that website during university too.
Then when another website called Inkpop shut down in 2012, I moved to Wattpad. I took a looooong break from WP and came back in 2019.
I've never left. Since then, my writing has thrived. I haven't stopped writing. It started with general fiction, and then I wrote a little something called The Burden of Us and fell in love with writing romance.
That book has been through 7 drafts, and is now traditionally published.
Since then, I've joined Wattpad's Creator's Program, and the Paid Program through bonus content on some of my stories. My book, My Blossoming Redemption, was shortlisted for The Wattys 2022.
