While the initial passion had mellowed, their love for each other had only grown stronger with time. They had been together for a year now and they still felt like college students.

"Hey babe, look what my mom just sent me," Megan said waving Alex over who is more interested in the football game that's on at the moment.

"Meg their in double overtime," he whines before falling silent looking at a photo of the two in college.

The two had both gone home to her mother's house for Christmas break and wanted a photo in their matching pagamas.

As they sat together at the dining table, Megan remarked, "I can't believe how much we've changed since we first met. We were so young back then."

Alex smiled and replied, "Yeah, but we've also learned so much about each other since then. Even after all these years, there are still new things I'm discovering about you."

Megan raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh really? Like what?"

Alex grinned mischievously. "Well, did you know that I have a secret love for disco music?"

Megan laughed. "No, I definitely did not know that! But I do know that you can't resist a good slice of pizza."

Alex nodded. "That's true, but did you know that I've also become a bit of a wine connoisseur?"

Megan looked surprised. "Really? I had no idea. I thought you only liked beer."

Alex chuckled. "Well, I still love beer, but I've also come to appreciate the finer things in life."

Megan smiled and leaned in to kiss him. "I love that we're still learning new things about each other. It keeps our relationship fresh and exciting."

Alex nodded in agreement. "And I love that after all these years, you're still the most beautiful and amazing person I know."

Megan blushed and snuggled up to him. "You always know just what to say to make me feel special."

The interaction only further confirmed her desires. The two had known each other for years, apart from the large gap between their college break up and her marriage to Michael, but Megan knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Alex. She wanted to get married.

Megan couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement every time she thought about the possibility of getting married to Alex. Their relationship was stronger than ever. She had always dreamed of a romantic proposal, but didn't want to push Alex to do anything he wasn't ready for.

Later that week, as she was cleaning up around the apartment, she made a point of leaving bridal magazines out on the coffee table and looking up engagement rings online. She even mentioned her favorite wedding venues in passing during conversations with Alex.

One day, while they were out for a walk, Megan spotted a bridal shop and couldn't resist peeking inside. As she admired the beautiful dresses, she felt Alex's hand in hers and turned to see him smiling at her.

Little did she know, Alex had been planning the perfect proposal for weeks. He wanted it to be a special moment that would mark the beginning of their new life together. As he sat across from Megan at their favorite restaurant, his heart was racing.

After they finished their meal, Alex got down on one knee and pulled out a small velvet box. "Megan, I love you more than anything in this world," he said. "You've been my best friend, my partner in crime, and the love of my life. We've been through so much together, and I can't imagine spending my life without you. Will you marry me?"

Megan was stunned. She had known that she loved Alex for a long time, but the thought of getting married had never crossed her mind. She looked down at him, her eyes welling up with tears.

"Yes," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Yes, I will marry you."

Alex slid the ring onto her finger, and they both stood up to embrace each other. As they kissed, they were surrounded by the applause of the other diners in the restaurant.

Over the next few weeks, Megan and Alex began planning their wedding. They had decided to have a small ceremony with just their closest friends and family, followed by a big party to celebrate.

As they sat down to write their vows, Alex couldn't help but think back on everything that had brought them to this moment. They had been through so much together, and he knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Megan by his side.

"Megan, you are my soulmate," he said, as he began to write. "From the moment I met you, I knew that there was something special about you. You've been my rock, my confidant, and my partner in all of life's adventures. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, and I promise to always be there for you, through the good times and the bad."

As they exchanged their vows on their wedding day, surrounded by their loved ones, Alex and Megan knew that they were embarking on the greatest adventure of their lives. They were excited for what the future held, and they knew that they would face it all together, with love, laughter, and a sense of humor.
