Calista's POV
We started looking and couldn't find anything. Dean started to get upset.

"Awww. It's okay."

I started rubbing his back.

"This sucks."

"Here. Let's check by me then you."

The aquarium by me had the option.

"Yes! Holy hell! Y-you can chill by the manatees while they're by the sharks and whales!"

"I doubt, they're gonna want to do shit without you."

"Yeah. You're probably right."

"How long is your break?"

"A month. Which works honestly."

"It does?"

"Yeah. I get to be there for their birthdays."

When we got off the train, we dropped our bags off at the hotel. We got a rental car and found a mall.

"Why are we here?"

"Uhhh...getting you not shitty jewelry. There's stores here that have real, nice jewelry. No more kids' jewelry. Okay? No more skin turning green. Oh and no more that."

He pointed at my necklace.

"I haven't taken this off in years."

"You did tell me you didn't like it."

"Yeah. You're right. I did. So...I should take it off then?"

"Yes."

"Here."

I handed him my bag. I opened it I took off the necklace and dropped it into my bag.

"Earrings too?"

"Yeah. They look bleh too."

I took off the earrings and dropped them into my bag.

"There. It's done."

I closed my bag and put it back on.

"Ready?"

"I guess. I'm leaving the bracelets."

"That's fine. Oh by the way, get ready for the engagement rumors."

"Huh?"

"I'm bring a girl to jewelry stores...."

"Okay but you're not buying me any rings."

"Your face is gonna be out there now."

I shrugged.

"Oh well."

We went to the first jewelry store and we started looking around.

"Cal, come here. I found something. You have a thing with red cardinals right?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"I found something."

I walked over to him and looked down in the case. He didn't even have to tell me what he was looking at. The red cardinal necklace.

I pointed at it

I pointed at it. The employee unlocked the case and pulled it out. It was placed in my hands. It felt like it was meant for me.

"I-I want this."

I looked at Dean.

"C-can I?"

"Yeah."

I handed it back to employee. She grabbed the box and put the necklace in it. She put the box off to the side.

"You okay?"

"I-I'm just shocked. I've never seen that."

I snapped myself back to reality. I found a pair of heart shaped earrings. I quickly finished up in that store and Dean paid. I was so excited to put on the necklace. Dean put the necklace on me then adjusted it.

Two girls started walking up to us. They looked like they were freaking out.

"D-Deany?"

"What's wrong?"

"There's girls walking up here."

"Goddamnit. See? They never leave me alone."

"Hi Dean!"

He turned around and I hid behind him.

"We didn't know you were here."

"You weren't at the airport the other day."

"I got here less than 3 hours ago."

One of the girls was trying to hard to get his attention.

Ew.

Do I look like that?

I hope now.

I wanna vomit.

"We're ditching school tomorrow to see you guys."

"Uhhhh. Why? It's at night. If it was in the morning, I'd get it."

They didn't know what to say. They just stared at him.

"Uhhhhh...wanna grab lunch with us?"

"I'm here with someone."
