Chapter 14

Dean's POV
I grabbed her hand and interlocked our fingers.

"Be honest. When I leave, are you gonna stay inside all day?"

"I mean...yeah...I'll have no reason to leave."

"Then...how about you come with me?"

"A-are you serious?"

"Yeah. You want to stay outta the house. I'd feel bad if I left you alone like that. We'll obviously talk to Sherry."

"I-I'll think about it."

"Okay. That works."

Seeing her smile and hearing her laugh made me happy. I don't know much about her but it wasn't bothering me. She wanted to stay by the dolphins for a while.

"When's your birthday?"

"February 14."

"You're a Valentine's Day baby?"

"Yeah."

You're mine now.

Actually...I'd like to go with you."

I smiled.

"It'd be nice."

"Do you have a passport?"

"Yeah. My sister made me get one. She's dragged me to weddings out of the country. I stayed in the hotel room basically."

We walked around again for a bit. After about 2 hours, we went into the gift shop. We spit up. I wandered over to the children sized clothes and started going through everything. I called my mom and asked what sizes I needed. I found shirt for my brother and sister then went to find Calista.

I found her over by the jewelry. I walked over to her. She was looking at pull cord bracelets.

"You okay?"

"Yeah. I'm just looking."

"You can get a few."

"A-are you sure?"

"Yeah. It's fine."

She picked up a few multi colored bracelets. One was blue, yellow, and white. One was light blue, dark blue, and baby blue. One was purple, pink, and blue. One was just blue and white. She started playing with her necklace. I noticed it was all rusty and old.

"How long have you had that necklace?"

"Oh uhh...8 years, I think? It's really the only one, I have. My parents sold all of my nice ones. My aunt said, for Christmas she's finally getting me a new one."

"Who got you this one?"

"My mom. I don't like it honestly."

"Why do you wear it then?"

"I don't know."

That's strange.

We finished up then got in the car. I started driving.

"Is there anything else you want to do?"

"No. I should really go start the rest of my homework for the school year."

"You still have homework?"

"Yeah. Just a small thing."

We went back to her house. She unlocked the front door and we walked in.

"Sherry?"

"Hold up!"

Sherry ran down the stairs.

"Hi! I have news!"

"Okay. And that is?"

"We're doing it! We're finally moving out of this fuckin town!"

"Really?! A-are you serious?! Where are we going?!"

"You've been talking about moving?"

"Yes! Everyone in this town is a dick. Where are we going?"

Sherry said where they were moving and it ended up being in the state.

"You guys know, I live there right?"

"Yeah. We just don't know where."

"Really?"

"Yeah. She's not a stalker or anything."

"Wow. You really are harmless."

"On Monday, I'm taking you out of that shit show. You'll go to your locker and get what's yours and bring back what's not yours."

"I don't have to go to class?!"

Sherry shook her head. Calista started hugging her.

"Wait! Oh my god! We mught be going to school together!"

"Yeah. You're right."

"Oh! Oh! I have a question! Can I go with Dean when he leaves?"

"We have to start packing."

Calista looked upset.

"Woah. You're actually upset about not leaving?"

"I had fun today."

"And I'm happy you did."

Calista started rubbing her eyes.

"Thanks for today D...I'll call you tomorrow...I guess.."

She ran away.
