"Oh my God, y'all are so amazing...", i say as Alisha takes the blindfold off my eyes.

They decorate the whole room with balloons and fine cakes and gift boxes.

"Hi big sis", Quan hugs me.

"Hi baby bro", I give him a peck.

"I can't believe y'all are throwing this send off party for me just because I wanna leave Alabama"

"You deserve a new beginning, baby girl", Quan says to me

"You really do", Alisha adds

"Maine here I fucking come", i scream and Quan suddenly smashes one of the cakes on my face.

"Bro!", i laugh and wipe the icing off my face.

"I'm gonna miss you so much bestie", Alisha adds.

"I'm gonna be miss you too, bes", I pat her cheek.

"Sis, I can't believe you're really going to leave Alabama", Quan says

"Alabama done put me through a lot. I just wanna get out of here and leave the hurtful memories behind"

"I feel you", he says again

"I already got accepted into university of Maine to read criminologyso I'm just gonna focus on that for now and forget Bessemer forever", i smile

"I'm so proud of you sis", Quan hugs me again.

"Now, let the party begin", Alisha yells and plays Pressurelicious by Megan Thee Stallion

"I'm putting it down on adderall, went for two hours on adderhall

"This school is gonna be the end of me. This is the vacation I need", i say to myself as I get to  Ogunquit beach with my poodle, Kacy.

"This place is gonna be good for some bodysurfing tbh", i sit on the sandy area, enjoying the cool breeze from the water,

"Kacy where are you going?", i yell as kacy starts barking at an invisible thing and running towards it.

I run after it.

"Kacy, what is that?", i look down at what she's barking at.

I pick up the necklace and it has initials of S.J on it.

"Yeah it's a necklace", i shrug at kacy and she just keep barking and I look up to see black dude, prolly looking for something as he paces around.

I walk over to him.

"I think this is yours", i stretch the necklace to him and watch his lips fall into a cute smile.

Damn this dude looks so good.

Okay focus Careesa!

"Wow thank you so much. I thought I lost this. How did you find it?", he asks

"My dog did. She must have seen it fallen from you or sumn", i look into his eyes.

Damn, this dude right here is so fucking pretty.

"Mmh thank you poodle uhh... what's her name?", he bends over and rubs Kacy's head

"Kacy"

"Nice", he stands up and stretches his hand to me," I'm Saint. What's your name?"

"I'm Careesa", i shake his hand.

"You have a nice name", he lets go of my hand

"Thank you", i smile.

"And a beautiful smile too. So uhm, do you stay around here?"

"Nah i school in Orono. I just came here to have some good time to myself"

"University of Maine?", he raises his brows

This dude is all shades of beautiful.

"Yeah", i nod

"That's great. What course?"

"Criminology"

"Oh that's cool"

"What about you?", i twist my lips to the side and he laughs

"I'm a surgeon, a neurosurgeon to be exact and I stay in Ogunquit"

"That's cool, really cool",

"Yeah maybe", he shrugs

"A neurosurgeon? I'm damn sure you gon be a genius"

He laughs.

"Maybe not. Can I get your digits or your social media or sumn?"

"Sure", I nod and give it to him.

"Alright thanks. I gotta go now. See you some other time, beautiful. I'm gonna text you, aight?"

"Okay"

"Bye", he says before walking away.

I sit and Kacy hoovers over me, licking my cheeks.

"I know I know. He's pretty. Let's see how it goes", i pat her her head.
