A Poem for My One True Love

My heart was tangled up like twine,
But when I met him, I just knew
We were meant to be, his heart and mine.

His voice was like an angel's song,
So beautiful, yet somehow sad,
I could listen to him all day long.

He may not be a perfect prince,
Or live inside a fairytale,
But still I ask him for a dance.

His arms wrap tightly around me,
In a warm, comforting embrace,
Setting my already fast heart pounding.

I miss him every second when
He's not here, right by my side.
I'm trying to cope, hard as I can.

If I could only have him here,
Holding me close, forever,
I know I would have nothing to fear.

Our love is true, oh yes indeed.
So true, in fact, it's guaranteed,
It's one no other can supersede.
