Scars Remain

Gone may be yesterday's pain
But the scars will forever remain.
The scars of heartbreak and sorrow
Remain through today and tomorrow.

Those scars recall the memories,
The ones full of tears and worries.
The heart starts turning cold and hard,
The last of emotion, a small, tiny shard.

But even that turns into stone
And all that's left is flesh and bone.
The soul turned blacker than the night,
For at least the stars give off a faint light.

The mind had been tossed into the void,
A place in which life was always destroyed.
With nothing to use to think or to feel
The human body is nothing but a shell

With nothing left but a thoughtless brain,
A rotten soul, and a heart numb from pain,
The human had started to wither away
Until it had died in a terrible way.
