I looked at the bench and I heard Matt walk over to the fridge and open it.
"Do you want to do something Mikayla?" He asked.
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? my mind screamed.
"Like what?"
"I dunno, lunch or something?"
"I guess." I said quietly.
"Where's Hannah?" He asked.
"Lunch or something........where have you been?"
"Lunch, with who?" I heard him shut the fridge door. "What?"
I raised my eye's and looked at him. "Where have you been?"
"I was at Brian's, we were.....Mikayla what happened to your hand?"
I looked at my bandaged hand. "I cut it on glass."
He walked over and gently took hold of my hand. "Why didn't you call me?"
"I didn't know where you were......Hannah took care of it."
"Mikayla, where did you think I was?" He asked. "Don't start this again."
"Did you sleep with her?" I blurted.
"Oh god.....Mikayla." He murmured, wrapping his arms around me. "You are the only girl I've slept with for months, you're the only girl I've wanted to sleep with for months and no I did not sleep with her."
I layed my head on his chest. "Really?"
"Do you want to know what the worst day of my life was?"
I looked up at him. "What?"
"That party." He started. "We hadn't spoken for awhile, we'd been in Europe and I just wanted to see you, that was all."
"How was that bad?" I was confused.
"Because when I showed up, you were there and you....." He took a deep breath. "You had on an engagement ring."
I layed my head back on his chest, listening to his heart beat.
"I was angry, disappointed, sad. I wanted to beat shit out of Marc, I wanted to shake the shit out of you." He kissed the top of my head. "I felt like I'd died on the inside Mikayla, you were getting married, but to somebody else."
"I didn't want to say yes." I whispered.
"Yeah but I didn't know that did I?"
I looked up at him and shook my head.
"What I'm trying to say Mikayla is that I love you and only you. I loved you for a long time and now I have you I'm certainly not letting go of you."
"Are you sure?"
He kissed me softly. "I've never been more sure."
"Good." I whispered.
"Does your hand hurt?"
"Yeah a little. So are we gonna go out?" I asked, standing up.
"I think so."
I reached up and wrapped my arm's around his neck. "I love you Matthew and I'm certainly not letting you go either."
"That's very good." He murmured, kissing me deeply.
I don't think we're going to lunch.
