This is Betelgeuse. A not so little orange blob.
Random Betelgeuse fact:
Back in 2019, Betelgeuse (out of nowhere) mysteriously dimmed and scientists were very confused!
At first they thought it was a sign that the red giant was going to go into supernova at any day, month, year or decade. BUT! As it turns out, a MASSIVE cloud of dust covered the star. That massive cloud of dust was caused by the star itself when it released a massive gas bubble (take it as a fart for stars)
The decrease in temperature was enough for the gas to condense into solid dust, which caused the star to dim while we watched.
Also, the dust is technically stardust and we humans are made of it! Isn't it amazing that we got to see the literal formation of stardust?! :>
