“That’s it for today’s lesson,” Javi’s professor told their class at the end of their period. “As for your activity, I expect you to submit them by next week. You have the weekend to work on it. Off you go.”
Javi packed up all his tools as all his other classmates also prepared to leave. Lumapit din sa kanya sina Alfred at Robi.
“Looks like we finally have a reason to work together,” the latter told Javi. “Don’t even give us any excuse. Hindi kami papayag na hindi makita si baby AJ in person.”
The young alpha stared at them flatly. “Wala naman akong sinabi. Let’s just work on it this Saturday. Umaga kayo pumunta para ‘di tayo magpuyat sa paggawa ng output natin.”
“Sure thing. Pupunta ka ba kina Asa ngayon? Alas tres na. Hindi ka naman siguro papasok pa sa trabaho mo?” tanong naman ni Alfred.
“No. Uuwi ako ngayon sa bahay. May pupuntahan kasi kami ni mama,” sagot ni Javi.
“No chance of you spending some time with us?” Robi asked him.
Javi shook his head. “Nope. I’ll see you tomorrow. Have fun,” he said before waving the two goodbye.
Habang naglalakad na siya papunta sa gate ay nakatanggap siya ng isang text message.
Take care, then. I’ll just see you tomorrow. Ikumusta mo na lang ako kina Tita Jessica at Jia.
It was Asa. Kanina kasi ay nagtext siya rito para ipaalam na hindi muna siya makakapunta sa condo. Ngayon pa nga lang niya natatanggap ang reply nito.
Javi stared for a long time at Asa’s contact number. Bigla kasing sumagi sa isip niya ang nangyari sa kanila noong gabing mag-usap sila tungkol kay Adam. He could still feel Asa’s warm lips on his own. Even though they’ve kissed numerous times before, the kiss they shared that night felt different.
Just like the kiss that you shared on that Christmas night, he thought.
Javi’s stomach squirmed uncomfortably as his intimate moments with Asa flashed in his mind. He doesn’t really understand what’s happening to him, but he’s not entirely clueless about it. Ilang beses na niyang narinig ang ganitong klaseng pangyayari lalo noong nagkakamabutihan pa lang sina Alfred at Robi.
Maybe I do like him, Javi thought. But. . . I’m still a nobody. Compared to Asa, I’m absolutely worthless. We’re miles apart from each other. Before I could even consider telling Asa how I feel, I should at least be able to achieve something. What can he possibly gain from someone like me?
The young alpha sighed heavily as he slumped his shoulders. He suddenly pictured Asa with another richer and more successful alpha. The thought of it seemed to squeeze Javi’s young heart painfully, so he just shook his head to remove the image from his mind.
“Stop imagining things, you idiot!” Javi told himself. “Sila na mismo ang nagsabi na walang panahon si Asa na pumasok sa kahit anong relasyon. Besides, it’s not like you really have feelings for him. You’re an alpha and he’s an omega. It’s natural to feel this way. You should control your emotions.”
Javi was too absorbed on his thoughts that he didn’t notice a car that suddenly stopped beside him.
“Hey, Javi.”
He turned and saw Rei looking at him from the window of his car.
“Oh. . . Hey. What are you doing here?” tanong naman sa kanya ni Javi.
“May pinuntahan lang akong malapit dito. I didn’t expect to see you here. Are you done with your classes? May lakad ka ba?” tanong ni Rei.
Javi shook his head. “Actually, pauwi na ako,” sagot niya.
