Chapter 10

JESSICA'S POV

My head snapped back, and I fell to the floor. I groaned, but didn't scream out. I didn't want Percy and Annabeth coming in.

"Where are you going you worthless pig?" said John. He kicked me in the ribs when I didn't answer.

I groaned.

That just made Angelica kick me in the back.

I whimpered.

'At least they haven't brought out the knives.'

John picked me up and smiled a wicked grin.

"Now what are we going to do about you?"

He grabbed my neck and slammed me into the wall.

My head sacked against the wall.

'That hurt.'

"Angelica sweetie, why don't you go get the knives."

I gasped silently and tried to pull off his hands.

He slapped me in the face and punched me in the stomach.

I bent over in pain. I still haven't screamed out.

"John come help me. I can't open the case."

He sighed. He threw me onto the ground and kicked me one more time.

He climes the stairs and was out of sight. I go to my knees and started to climb to the door.

About five seconds later I heard a scream.

'Crab cakes. They know I'm gone.'

I stood up and ran to the door.

Just as I opened it up, I saw Percy reaching for the handle.

"Come on guys, we gotta go."

I picked up my duffel bag, motioned for them to follow, and then started to run away. They followed me, but were confused.

As we walked down the street back to the park, I was confused as to why my "parents" weren't following us. But I was happy. We finally got to the park.

"Um... Where's your car?"

"Over there," said Percy pointing to a silver mustang.

"Nice car," I mention.

"We'll since we've did a lot to help save the world, the gods were great full and gave us stuff."

I nod.

We head to the car.

"So are we going straight to the camp or do you need to grab some things."

Annabeth looked at Percy.

"We need to grab some things," she says, "So we'll have to grab some things, and then we'll go to camp."

"Okay."

We started driving home. It wasn't long until we pulled up their house.

"Wow. So was this part of your "gift" from the gods?" I asked putting emphasis on the gift.

They laugh together.

"Yeah," nods Percy.

"They were really generous."
