The next morning I woke up to something pecking at my window. I sat up and rubbed up eyes trying my hardest to not go back to sleep. I looked towards the window and saw my owl, Victoria who I nicknamed Tori, holding a letter. I let Tori in and fed her as I retrieved the letter from her claws. It was from my father.

My Precious Alice,

I have written to inform you of my trip to Hogwarts this weekend. I would hope that you know what has happened at your school but if you do not, I will tell you. The minister has asked me to personally investigate the cursed necklace that was given to a student at Hogwarts named Katie Bell.

I gasped in surprise. Katie Bell had been cursed?

Apparently on your first Hogsmeade trip she was given a cursed necklace and put under the imperius curse to give it to Dumbledore. Also I was informed that Harry Potter has some suspicions as to whom it might be. But do not worry I will be there in three days time and when I arrive I will search everywhere for the culprit. I miss you sweetheart and I hope everything is well.

Love, your father

I took a deep breath as I set down the letter. This must be death eater related if my father has been sent. And Harry? Oh no! He's going to tell my father that he thinks its Draco. But Draco was with me the entire time at Hogsmeade so his story isn't plausible. Well....aside from when he left me at the salon but I trust Draco. He would never hurt anyone, especially someone as nice as Katie Bell. I continued to ponder this until someone knocked on my door making me jump up in surprise. I didn't answer so they spoke.

"It's me, Alice." Draco said softly.

"Come in, Draco." Then without hesitation he opened the door and walked in. I ran into my bathroom and quickly changed. I left my hair down straight and left my glasses there. I walked out and tried to smile but it came out as more of a grimace. He must have noticed my troubled expression because he asked me.

"Is everything alright?"

I sighed. He knows I can't lie to him. "No its not. My father just sent me this." I picked up the letter and handed it to him. I watched as he read it. At first his face was calm and then it turned panicked. I grew anxious. What if it was Draco?

"Did you know?" I asked causing him to jump. He didn't answer. "Draco, did you know about Katie Bell being cursed?"

He sighed. "I heard about it yesterday when you were at the salon but I didn't want to frighten you so I stayed quiet. I hope you aren't too angry with me."

I laughed. "Draco, I don't think you've ever seen me mad. And no I'm not, I was just surprised. Now let's go before we miss breakfast." He nodded and we walked down to the great hall in silence. I decided to break it.

"Draco?" He turned to me. "What if Harry tells my father something about you?"

Draco stiffened. "It doesn't matter. I was with you the entire day."

"I know but you left me for a while and-"

"And what!" He snapped, aggressively. I had just realized that we had stopped walking. He advanced towards me, pushing me up against the wall. His eyes were those of a mad man. "Are you accusing me of cursing Katie Bell?" I shook my head, scared. "Then what?"

"Draco, it's not that it's just that if they ask me I can't lie."

"Bullshit!" he yelled. "I thought you were different. I thought I could trust you but evidently I can't."

"Draco no, please don't get mad at me. Please." I choked out. I can't lose my only friend.

"Well, too bad. I'm done with you."
