I get to v as her request. We walk into the dining room where our parents are.
I fix my serpent jacket as I walk in
"FYI, Smithers, Avery and I are road tripping to New York tomorrow." V says
"Oh? What's the occasion?" Our mom asks
"I have an interview at Barnard college if you must know and Avery is there for emotional support." V says
"And of course we'll be going on a shopping spree beforehand to find v the right outfit to impress" I say
"Is your serpent boyfriend going with?" My dad asks
"No he's not he's staying here with fangs to help with the serpents, don't even try to do anything to him while I'm away" I say pointing my finger at him
"Well that's perfect timing. Your mother and I were just planning our own trip to New York" our dad says
"Seriously?" V asks
"Yeah I have a few business meetings I've been putting off" our dad says
"And I'm having lunch with the girls at cafe des creatifs" our mom says
"And don't worry mijas as soon as we reach Manhattan we'll go our separate ways" our dad says
V looks at me and I sigh and nod "fine. But New York is our town. Not yours" v says and we storm off
That night I pack my bag and sweets grabbed me "do you really have to go?" He asks me I run my hair through his hair as he's sitting on the bed.
"I'll be back soon baby I promise I just have to help v and be there for her and then we are coming home" I say
"Are you taking your serpent jacket?" He asks me
"I don't know probably not since v would want me dressing how I used to before I met you" I say
"Mm how was that?" He asks me
"Diamonds all over me wearing heels and skirts and dresses" I say
"Oh yeah you still dress like that sometimes" he says and kisses me
"Not as much as I used to my sweets" I say he lays back and pulls me on top of him "well I like you better in nothing" he says and I giggle before kissing him again
The next day we get to New York I wore a black shirt and a black and white shirt with diamonds in my ears and them on my heels.
We see our friend "well well well" I say as we walk up to her
"If it isn't Katy keen" v says we all run to each other and group hug
"Hi oh" she says
"It's so good to see you" I say
"It has been way to long girl" v says as we pull away from each other
"I know something that is gonna make you two even happier I hear that the new proenza schouler collection on the fourth floor is to die for" Katy says
"I can't wait" v says
"She needs to ooze collegiate cuteness at her interview tomorrow" I say
"Well I have already scoped out some Barnard ready options" Katy says to us
"Well, good thing I'm armed with my mothers Lacy's card." V says
"If that's the case I know exactly where to start. Come on" she says to us pulling us
We all try on real cute outfits but mostly v for her interview.
"Oh I don't want this rainbow high montage to end" Katy says as v is paying
"Who says it has to?" I ask
"We can leave our bags with Smithers and just keep going" v says
"Wait do you guys like drag? My friend Jorge and I always sneak into this little dive bar called Mollys Crisis" Katy says
"Sounds amazing" v says
"Sounds like it's to die for Kate Kate" I say and we head off
"So assuming that you get into Barnard next year which you totally will, is Archie movie here with you next year? And is your boyfriend sweet pea is his name moving to Yale with you?" Katy asks
"That's still very much up in the air. Honestly, I don't think riverdale could survive without him" v says
"Oh it so couldn't and no sweets will be staying in riverdale with the serpents" I say
"Well there's always long distance." Katy says
"Totally and that what our best friend Betty and her beau are doing" I say
"And they're making it work so. And what about you and your brawny boxer?" V asks Katy
"Ko" Katy says
"Mmmhmm" I say
"Well we are a real thing now." She says and we clap for her
"I know he's...he's the best." Katy says
"You know I remember the first time you held hands with him" v says
"It was at our quinceanera at the plaza and you told us his palms were sweaty because he was so nervous" I say
"Oh my god that is so embarrassing. I can't believe you two remember that. All I remember is that the Jonas brothers performed and of course how stunning you two looked" Katy says
"Yeah because you and your mom made the dresses. The dresses that launched this beautiful, unexpected relationships" v says
"How is your mother how is her shop?" I ask
She sighs "Veronica, Avery my moms really sick. And she's getting treatment and she's...oh she's being so strong. But um... they...they caught it to late, so we're just...we're not sure what's gonna happen. She's my best friend Veronica. Avery" Katy says a tear falling
"Katy" v says
"Uh I'm sorry" she says and wipes her eyes "didn't want to tell you I didn't want to cry today" Katy says
"Are you kidding me? What are old friends for if not to provide shoulder to cry on" I say
"Come here" v says and I stand up and we all group hug
"I love you Katy keen" v says
"You're gonna be ok I promise" I say
At home v ends up calling me telling me our father is sick and has a disease. I hang up the phone and I don't know if I should cry.
I get invited over to Cheryl's to see nick visted while I was away
I laid on fangs shoulder as I watched the video of nick that fangs and kev made with him
"God you dated that dude?" Fangs asks me
"Yeah I did and he was never a good boyfriend to me but this makes everything so much better" I say giggling
"So..so nick is what we in the tickle business would call a first- class squealer" kev says and we all start laughing
"I propose a toast" Cheryl says and grabs her drink fangs hands me mine as he grabs his as well.
"To Toni topaz, who slated yet another dragon from my past." Cheryl says we all cling our glasses together before drinking "cheers" we all say
"I am as always one lucky lady" Cheryl says
Me and v changed our names back to lodge. Even though I still hate him. He's my father and a part of me will love and respect him.
I called him up
"Hello mija what have I done to get this call" he asks
"When I go to Yale, will you be the one to take me? I may fight with you daddy but I do still have love and respect for you. So to show that I changed my name back to lodge with v I don't know if she told you" I said
"I would be honored to take you mija" he says
"I love you dad, I gotta go I'm meeting up with Jughead and Betty" I say
"I love you too mija" he says and I hang up
