Third Person P.O.V

It had been many days since Remus got the book, once all his friends were deep asleep, he would close his curtains place a silencing spell and learn the hand language. He found it quite fascinating that people could have whole conversations with just their hands

And he wanted to be able to do that, to have that skill under his belt, he wanted to talk to Delphina in her language, not his. But it came with a cost to his sleep, especially during his cycle where he couldn't bear to stay up another minute after school. Going back to his dorm and sleeping sometimes missing dinner

But during those days he wasn't battling with himself he was learning away steadily and peacefully. No questions from his friends, or pressure to tell them he was happy to keep this all away and out of his friends' hands and eyes

Although they still believe he hooked up with someone, which always made the boy roll his eyes as Sirius or James would list off girls in their year while he was trying to take notes. And this day he was fed up with it all he needed was a couple of hours away from his nosy friends, but that was very hard to do when your sleep in the same dorm and are locked in a castle together all year basically

So, he resorted to a place the boys would dare to step in since last year's incident. The library. It was a place for the Lupin boy to blow off some steam in a calm peaceful place where the boys were banned beside him and to say the boy liked it was an understatement. He loved it; he loved the fact that out of this whole castle there was one common area where they could not sneak their way in

He thought it was sad that he loved to brag to himself about that, but the boys could be a little much... All the time

As he walked into the library, he noticed that there weren't many students. Probably due to it being the weekend and people like not to study which the boy was perfectly content with all the more calmness for him. As he went to his usual table tucked away from the rest of its kind surrounded by the shelves with the best literature in this library filled with magic books

The books were muggle books off romance, mystery, adventure and more it was still very small with more muggle books coming in every year hoping to balance against the pages filled with spells and potions. The boy had already read all of them by his 3rd year, but he loved to go back and read them feeling the same way he did when he first read it

It came to a shock to see someone sitting there and not just anyone a certain girl he had been devoting his life to by fighting his sleep to learn another way to get to her. The brunette sat with her head to the page she wrote on, he had a feeling she was writing the homework due for the start of the week

He had this chance to sit next to her and just be in her presence just thinking about that made the boy fidgety and nervous he was a blushing mess. He took it slow walking to her trying his absolute best not to trip over his own feet he didn't need his clumsiness stepping in today

Remus reached his hand out towards her shoulder but retracted it only a second later he repeated that several times before his clumsy hand slipped and nudged his shoulder. For once his disastrous trait had done him good getting the girls to turn and look at the culprit

She delicately waved at the frozen boy, she waited for a response, but it hurt the girl inside. Did he not want to talk to her because she was deaf? Did he find her weird? She was always afraid of this happening, and it has happened to her

He looked at her sad face and snapped himself out of the trance sitting down next to her offering a small smile to comfort her. He stared at her as she resumed reading it was just his luck that while he was learning her language that he had come up with another way to talk to her

Remus kept a long roll of parchment behind some dusty old books no one ever gets. He couldn't contain himself as he jumped back into his seat starling Delphina, she watched as he too excitedly unrolled a meter of paper ripping it off and scribbling something on it. She went back to her book but before she could even start a hand slid under her arms quickly retracting

Delphina looked at the boy seeing his giddy smile and blushing cheeks waiting anxiously for her to read his writing. A simple "Hi" was inked onto the thick parchment she knew what he was doing, gesturing to his pencil he placed it into her soft hands. Now all he wanted to do was hold her hand no matter freezing cold or sweaty he craved it

She flicked it back over to Remus closing her book and putting all her attention on him which he seemed to adore. As they caught eyes the Gryffindor acted like a lost puppy Delphina silently laughed waving a hand in Infront of his face catching his attention following her hands as she pointed to the paper

You're very smart Remus

He looked up to see her face filled with a compassionate warmth the boy with a pencil in hand tapped his head with a keen grin his gesture was enough to erupt her in silent giggles

For the rest of the evening the boy and girl passed along notes to each other, they resorted to just writing on the roll instead of ripping off pieces. Delphina held a full conversation with Remus some remarks she wrote caused the boy to erupt in laughter. They must have been loud because Madam Pince came over and shushed them it was getting close to curfew and before the girl could leave, he wrote one more question

Again next Weekend?

She smiled and wrote something down before quickly dashing with peppermint pink cheeks. She left the library clutching the book close to her stomach, Remus laughed at her exit with matching 'sunburns'. His smile grew to clown upon seeing her response
