Third Person P.O.V

It came to be September 1st and Delphina was pushing her trolley with all her belongings and Noelle was behind her daughter watching out for platform nine and three quarters. When they arrived, Noelle held on tightly to her daughter's shoulders as they ran through the wall together

She stared at the train in awe as Noelle guided her daughter deeper onto the platform. They stood right near a door to hop on, turning to her mother as she started to cry, her mother was already bawling her eyes out. The 11-year-old jumped into her mother's arms as they held each other lightly before letting go

"You'll be okay Delph if it gets too hard you go to McGonagall, and I'll come and take you home" Noelle signed nodding to reassure her daughter as Delphina nodded back looking around to see all the kids saying goodbye to her parents just like her

One last hug was shared before she slowly stepped onto the train with her luggage, she looked at her mother one last time. Noelle waved with teary eyes as Delphina did the same before her mother was out of sight as she walked further into the train

She found a compartment at the very back of the train. She set her case on the shelves above and sat down next to the window, she could still see her mother coming closer to her window

The train had unexpectedly moved, and she waved till her mum was out of sight. The scenery changed from a platform to fields of trees and hills as Delphina silently cried for the next hour. She audibly sniffled looking out the window not realising someone had come into her compartment hearing the sniffs

When she finally looked away, she jumped off her seat and she saw a blonde-haired girl sitting across from her. Once Delphina recovered, she saw the girl say a "Hello" she looked calm and collected a lot less rowdy from the kids that she saw at the station

Delphina waved a hello with no sign because her mother told her that kids don't know sign language so she shouldn't try to with kids that didn't look patient or with any kids, because what kid would know sign language

The girl's head tilted at the lack of noise coming from the girl, Delphina quickly pointed to her ears signifying that she couldn't hear

"You're deaf?" She signed with her pale fingers looking at me intently and fascinated but not disgusted like all the kids around her were like growing up

"Yes, do you know sign language," Delphina signed desperately hoping that she did so Delphina could have just one friend so she could survive the 7 years of school not completely alone

"Yes, I do, my name is Pandora, I learnt when I was younger, my mum said it would be interesting to learn and a challenge to the brain" She informed Delphina smiling

"I'm Delphina"

They talked for another 2 hours before Pandora got up to leave saying they should share a boat. When the blonde left Delphina locked the door and pulled down the blind, getting dressed in her mother's old robes. She saw one late night at home saw her mum pulling off her Hufflepuff crest, now when she pulled on the robe the normal Hogwarts crest was perfectly sewn on

Magic

The train had stopped, and all the kids were hopping off the train Delphina tried to look over their heads to find Pandora. She finally found the blonde-haired girl and rushed to her clenching her shoulders. They both entered a boat together with two other girls who looked to be chatting away not looking at Delphina or Pandora

They stood on the stairs waiting to enter the great hall, Delphina looked around at the many kids, some eager and some nervous. She was fascinated by a pale-looking boy with small scars across his face. Why did he have scratches over his face he looked so innocent and quiet?

Delphina suddenly felt a strong vibration coming from her wrist, she looked up and saw Professor McGonagall looking at her with a petite smile and a certain twinkle in her eye. She looked at the big crowd and led them in she stood holding the hat while looking at the paper

"Pandora Lestrange" She saw McGonagall curtly mouthed and Pandora from next to me let go of Delphina's hand and went to the seat. The hat was placed on her head, and it took a second to yell out a house she couldn't make it out from the dark leather the hat was made out of

She turned to see everyone clapping and I looked at Pandora, she was heading down to the farthest table to my right. I saw her crest change to a deep blue and immediately knew she was put in Ravenclaw

Her mother had told her all about the houses, their colours, traits and animals. Her mum told her that she wouldn't care what house she was sorted into and whatever the hat chose for her would be right for her

Her bracelet vibrated rapidly as she snapped out of her trance and looked up to McGonagall reading her name. She took a deep breath and slowly walked up to the stool, she sat and looked up to the woman in green robes lowering the hat onto her head

She sat there for a few moments and suddenly saw Pandora shoot up clapping and screaming. She stood from the stool and looked down at her crest seeing the Ravenclaw badge, Delphina looked over to the Professor and she gave Delphina an approving and motherly nod hoping her years here will be as good as they are for everyone else

She could hope
