Stop It Shinnosuke!

Chapter 23

After having an intense discussion on where all of the students would like to go for the brief school trip before the tests, the teacher concluded that Uchimaki Park would be the best spot. The students were surely disappointed, but couldn't question the decision as it was their homeroom teacher.

"Be sure to pack lunches and water bottles. We'll not provide any refreshments. Again, remember this just a little break before the upcoming tests so don't get too into it.", the teacher coldly reminded the students.

"But sensei, if it's a break, aren't we supposed to get into it?", Shinnosuke asked innocently as the classroom broke into chuckles.

"Shinnosuke-kun, I would rather you not get into it at all. The memories from the last school trip still haunts me.", the teacher said and shuddered at his own memory of last year's school trip. " Alright, class dismissed. You can enjoy your lunch now."

As the teacher left, students rushed to each other's places as they planned out groups and who'll bring what responsibilities.

"So it'll be the 5 of us right?", Nene reconfirmed.

"I don't think Sensei said anything about choosing groups. It'll just be half a day worth trip, so we won't be doing any group activities.", Kazama explained.

"Uh... whatever. You never know what'll happen.", she ignored Kazama and proceeded to write their group members on the sheet that was being passed around the class.

"N-Nene-chan! Shouldn't we wait a bit before writing anything. In case, someone wants to join?", Masao interrupted Nene before she could hand the paper out to others.

Nene looked at him with a confused expression, "Who'll join our group? It's just us, isn't it?"

"You never know.", Bo said.

Everybody looked at each other. It was Bo who had just predicted something after all.

"Well, if it's Bo-kun.", Nene sighed, "Hey, class rep! Can I turn in our group later?"

"Sure! Just do it before the class trip.", the class rep replied from a distance.

"Okay thanks!", Nene turned around, "There. But if anyone new joins it better be a nice guy."

"Ehh~ why not a cute chick?", Shinnosuke whined.

"Is that all you ever think about?", Kazama squinted his nose at Shinnosuke.

"Of course not, Toru! I think about you too~"

"Shut up."

Kazama was more used to it now. He didn't get too embarrassed at Shinnosuke's flirtatious comments and had gotten comfortable just shutting him up.

As for Shinnosuke, well, the wet dream crisis persisted, but he knew how to hide it well. He obviously didn't get a boner while looking at Kazama in real life presently, so it wasn't a big problem for him. Atleast not yet.

"Come to think of it, where's that one student?", Masao asked.

"Who?", Nene questioned.

"The one that was supposed to come together with Kazama-kun."

"Oh, them? I don't know. Probably any time now if they still wish to study at this school."

"I think they'll come in tomorrow.", Kazama spoke as he munched down on the rice his mom made.

"Wait, how do you know?", Masao burped.

"Sensei called me in to show them around.", Kazama answered and chuckled afterwards, "Bold of them to assume something like that even though I'm a new student too."

"Wait wait, who is it? A girl? A boy? I hope it's a guy. It's a guy, right?", Nene rambled.

"About that, uh, I still don't know."

"Eh? Why??"

"I never asked. Sensei only told me they'd probably come tomorrow and I'll have to show them around. You know, new students bond better thingy."

"What's the point of seeing the teacher if you never asked him who it was. You're really no fun, Kazama-kun.", Nene exhaled and went back to eating her lunch.

"Yo, we're back." Shinnosuke appeared along with Bo with some vending machine drinks, "Nene-chan, were you bullying my Toru-kun?"
Kazama glared at him with a look that said, 'don't you dare start now'.

"Hah, I would never.", Nene said as plainly yet playfully as possible, "However, it's you who should be worried. I mean, what if the new girl steals away your Toru-kun?"

"What?", Shinnosuke suddenly returned to his normal voice, surprised at what Nene said. 'Who'll steal away Kazama-kun and why?', he thought.

"Oh my, why are you so surprised, Shin-chan?", Nene smirked.

"He's probably shocked that his prediction about a new girl would be right.", Kazama clarified laughing.

"Y-Yeah. I'm always right.", Shinnosuke managed to say while handing out drinks to everyone.

As he handed out Kazama his drink, he mumbled dramatically, "Although I would be very sad if someone were to steal my Kazama-kun away from me."

Seeing Shinnosuke's face, Kazama couldn't help but feel his cheeks warm up at his words.

"What's wrong with you today?", he mumbled back while snatching his drink away from Shinnosuke's grip.

"Nothing?", he naively answered, tiny drops of sweat dripping from his forehead in the summer heat. Shinnosuke sat down and rubbed his face against his chill cola can, absorbing in the cold sensation.

Kazama noticed his features, like how his short messy bangs sticked to his forehead or how his big eyes reflected the blazing sun's light and shone bright.

Before he could move his eyes away, Shinnsouke's gaze met his.

Both of them looked at each other for a short time that felt longer than it should've.

Kazama was the first to tear away his gaze, which soon after Shinnosuke did too.

Although the eye interaction might have seemed normal to a spectator, it certainly was anything but normal.

Nevertheless, both the guys ate their lunches quietly afterwards as the summer cold breeze gently passed through.

'What was that?", Kazama couldn't help but think after finishing his lunch,

"It felt so nerve wracking."
