"SO UM WHAT NOW?" asked jaeden, fiddling with the string of his hoodie as he and lauren sat across from each other in the dimly lit closet

"we just talk i guess. how was your day?" sighing heavily, lauren played with her fingers, gently tapping her foot on the ground while waiting for a reply

"i helped your brother with some project. and you were right, he is a terrible actor"

"told you. hey have you talked to wyatt at all today?" she then inquired, pursing her lips before turning to the door of the closet

"nope. i invited him to hang out with me and justin but he said no. didn't say why though, i'm actually surprised he isn't here. did something happen?"

"yeah, but that's kind of a long story. bottomline is audrey's in a dilemma"

"mhm yeah justin told me about what happened when they were rehearsing" jaeden hummed softly, pulling his phone out of his pocket after feeling it vibrate

"you had your phone the whole time and you didn't bother to turn on the flashlight?" she questioned, furrowing her eyebrows at him playfully before giggling making him roll his eyes before saying

"i thought we weren't going to since you didn't turn your phone on"

"my phone's charging it's not with me."

"that's unfortunate" he mumbled, turning on his flashlight before giving her a taunting grin that basically said 'light's on, are you happy now?'

the pair sat in awkward silence as jaede continued typing on his phone, seeing as to they had another six to seven minutes, lauren decided to be nosy. just so she wouldn't die of boredom in a closet with someone she might have feelings for even though she had a boyfriend

"who are you texting?"

"oh um — someone" he replied briefly, exiting his messages before placing the device on the ground, illuminating a small part of the closet so they could at least see each other

"justin?"

"no um. just this girl i'm talking to"

"oh?" she muttered, raising an eyebrow at the brunet before pressing her lips into a thin line as if she were disappointed

"what's her name?"

"her name's bella, met her a party a few weeks ago. we're just — talking it's nothing really"

"yeah well talking leads to being friends, then you become more than friends like you start flirting or whatever, then you become official, then one thing leads to another and —"

"okay you're going a bit too far there calm down. it's nothing serious, i'm not into her like that" he assured her, chuckling softly before adding

"someone sounds jealous"

"i have a boyfriend"

"i'm aware"

lauren shook her head at her good friend before rolling her eyes at him, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear before lowering her gaze to the ground.

i mean she had to admit, she was jealous. but she knew she had no right to be, she had her own boyfriend after all.

"you know while we're here we might as well have a deep conversation that we're never going to talk about when we leave this closet. it's the only other option i can think of other than making out"
