THE HALLS OF O'MALLEY PREP WERE filled with chatter as lauren, beth, and audrey stood by lauren's locker, talking about their surprisingly very eventful weekends. beth celebrated her girlfriend jill's birthday, wyatt and audrey went on a date, and lauren had that date with lucas the most important event of them all (according to her friends) being that she finally met jaeden.

"how was it though? like what exactly happened? we need all the details!"beth cheered excitedly, jumping up and down as lauren organized the books in her locker

"nothing he just came into my room and we talked"

"about what?"audrey pried, leaning on the locker next to lauren who simply sighed and shook her head at the two

"stuff"

"what stuff?"

"just auditions and shit nothing interesting i swear. don't even know when i'll see him again"lauren mumbled, slamming her locker shut before straightening out her blazer and skirt. see their school had a uniform, and the school was very keen on making sure that all their students always looked presentable.

"lauren don't look back"beth muttered under breath, as she and audrey stood up a little straighter. lauren pinched her eyebrows together and turned around only to see lucas brown, headed their direction

"i said don't look back you dumbass"

"lauren! hey!"lucas greeted with a wide smile, sheepishly adjusting the strap of his backpack before placing his hands in his pockets

"hi lucas! do you need anything?"

"no not really i just thought we could walk to class together but while your friends are here — beth! i got a little something for you"the brunette stated, moving his backpack to the front and opening it.

the three girls' eyes went wide when he suddenly brought out a box of the latest iphone, he opened it revealing a brand new model, causing their jaws drop. generously handing it over to beth he said

"my parents got me this so it looked like they weren't neglecting me or whatever. they forgot it was my birthday a couple months ago because they were in switzerland for some business trip."

"i got a new phone last week so i don't need it, but um — i think you might need it so here. don't worry about paying or anything they got it covered, they won't even realize it's gone"

the three girls were still in awe, not exactly knowing what to do next. lauren and audrey turned to beth, the blonde cleared her throat before saying

"lucas i can't accept this i —"

"please do, i don't want it to sit in my drawer for all of eternity. also, i'm pretty sure the way to lauren's heart is winning her friends over too so here's me trying to do that"he admitted. giggling softly, beth graciously took the box and said

"you sir, are amazing. i approve. lauren go marry him right now"

lauren's cheeks flushed red while lucas simply laughed. he turned to lauren, extended his hand out to her and said

"so shall we walk to class?"

"i um —yes! yeah we shall"

lauren said her goodbyes to her friends before taking lucas' hand into hers. as the pair walked to class lauren looked back at audrey and beth who were gushing over beth's new phone and lauren and lucas.

audrey looked up and mouthed 'what the fuck' while lauren simply shrugged in reply, she diverted her attention back to lucas who was rambling about what he did after their date.
