Asami was just sitting in her room. With her head in a book that she found in korra's old house. It was a book about someone studying the avatar.

It was a bit old because it was from before korra was around. But the  chapter she was on caught her eyes. It said that if you scratch behind the avatar's ears they seem to calm down.

They gave a example of when aang was angry and katara did it. He blushed and immediately calmed down. This gave the engineer a idea.

She waited till korra came back and patted the seat next to her. Korra sat down but before she could lean over like she normally did she felt a hand touch her ear.

She froze and waited to see what asami was planning. Last time she did this it was a spider. The hand that belonged to her forever girl gently went behind her ear.

Asami's fingers went right behind her ear and started to pet her softly. Korra laid down in Asami's lap and grabbed her leg gently squeezing.

They sat in silence while asami made a mental note to do this more often. They sat on silence until korra had a very good question.

"Where did you find that book?"
