BIHAA 04: daughter

LUNA

"So we meet again. Luna"  he said with a smirk. I gulped at the intensity of the way he looks at me, and of course the trouble building inside me with the kind of stare that my bestfriend throws.

Oh shit, hindi ko talaga alam kung papaano ko sasabihin ito, kung papaano ako magpapaliwanag kay Astra.

Pero bago pa man ako makapag-isip ng isasagot ay narinig ko na ang tinig ng bestfriend kong naguguluhan na ngayon sa nangyari and I know for sure that she already had a hint in her mind and she is only waiting for a confirmation.

"Teka teka—we meet again? Tama ba ang narinig ko? So ang ibig bang sabihin ay nagkita na kayo dati?" Astra asked the two of us. Pabaling baling ang tingin nya sa amin ni Ace. We just nodded in confirmation. She then give her brother a deadpan look.

"Kuya, I didn't know na nagkita na kayo dati. And as far as I remember hindi ka interesado sa kahit na sinong babae" she stated like it was a matter of fact.

"Yeah, no one has ever caught my attention, except her" he answered non-chalantly then turn his gaze to me with a grin pasted on his face. I gulped at that mischievous aura of him.

'Why is he so damn smoking hot? He is undeniably a downright gorgeous man' I thought.

"Tapos ikaw naman babae, ba't hindi mo man lang sinabi sa akin na nagkita na pala kayo ni kuya?" Astra asked me while eyeing me suspiciously. I gulped. I dont know what to say.

"U-Uhm kasi, ano bhie. I don't know naman na sya pala 'yong kuya mo tapos ahm we happen to meet at the bar few years ago" I replied while biting my lips.

"WHAT!!" Astra replied in shock. She was panicking hysterically.

"Wait sa bar? So you mean to say that you meet in a bar? How the hell did that ever happened?" she almost shouted out of frustration

"Kuya diba never ka naman nagpupunta sa mga bar right?" she asked her brother. But her brother answered indifferently.

"Yup, but there's one time na nagpunta ako, and it happened that I meet your friend there" Ace replied

"Oh my. Oh my god. Luna bhie, tell me I am wrong with my speculations please. Tell me. He is not that man you met in that bar few years ago that you did end up in a hotel right? Tell me" she asked pleading that she was just making the wrong speculations, that her mind is just playing with her as of the moment.

"He was" I replied in a low voice but enough for them to hear.

She gasped with what she heard. Then look at he brother, then turn her gaze to me again.

"No! No! No! No, it can't be" she shook her head while whispering to herself. I look at her in awe as well as her brother look at her in confusion.

"Hey Astra, why? What with that face?" he asked curiosly

"Hindi mo kasi naiintindihan kuya eh, alam mo ba na galit ako sa tatay ni Asteria ha? Galit ako kasi hindi niya man lang hinanap 'yong kaibigan ko, galit ako kahit pa alam kong hindi naman sinasadya ng tatay niya na ganun ang magiging resulta, kaya lang kasi alam kong nahinto ang lahat ng pangarap ni Luna eh, nasaktan siya ng sobra nang dahil doon, kailangan n'yang huminto para kay Asteria" she blurted out with her eyes flooding in tears while shouting angrily at her brother. Gusto kong matawa kasi straight iyong pananalita ni Astra at walang halong ka-alien-an pero hindi ko magawa dahil sa sobrang serysoso ng usapan.

Naiiyak na din ako, hindi ko alam na may galit pala siya sa tatay ng anak ko. Oo anak ko, may anak ako. As much as I want my daughter to have a father, hindi ko rin alam kung paano hahanapin ang tatay n'ya kasi nga tinakbuhan ko. And fate played us well, there he was—standing in front of me.
