I woke up earlier than everyone else again this morning, feeling a renewed sense of confidence after last night. I don't know if I could trust Ethan's word that he wouldn't kill me, but he didn't ask any more questions about my pack so for now I was safe and planned to make the most of it. I dressed into my white blouse and skipped into the kitchen, toasting the bread for the wicker basket and starting on the main breakfast. Raula joined me after an hour, the smile from last night hadn't disappeared yet

"Good morning Ace. To what do I owe the pleasure of your smile?" The older woman teased, squeezing my arm lightly and shooing me away from the stove. I took a seat at the kitchen island, sipping a glass of water and tried to force the smile off of my face; to no avail.

"Raula I know that you had some part in last night... Thank you." I smiled earnestly and she returned it but continued to make breakfast as I cleaned the glass I was finished with. I heard the workers trailing into the kitchen but even the sight of the twins grumbling about the early hour wouldn't knock my mood

"Mornin' princess. What's got you so happy?" Jet appeared after the twins, looking considerably more awake. I rolled my eyes at the nickname that I despised when it wasn't coming from Ethan but offered him a glass of orange juice all the same

"Who cares why she's so happy? It's so early Ade!" Louvel whined to her older twin sister, who rolled her eyes at the dramatic display but I chuckled, walking up to the counter where hot breakfast was waiting to be served to the pack. A strand of hair fell into my line of sight and I quickly tied it back in a ponytail but someone came behind me and I flinched, ducking lightly in fear

"Ace it's just me. I'm going to braid your hair so Alpha Lupus doesn't have a bitch fit." She chuckled and I relaxed, though not before Raula scolded Honi for her language. I felt the black-haired woman's fingers expertly braiding my hair and tied it at the end before pressing a firm kiss to the back of my head. "All done." I nodded in thanks towards her and picked up two of the plates, already in my routine of serving food. The pack didn't look at me this morning, though I kept my head down anyway. Just like before, the one consistent stare to the top of my head was Ethan's which caused a blush to rise onto my dirty freckled cheeks as I served all of the food. I hovered by the Alpha which he noticed due to his breath faltering as I placed his plate down for just a moment before stepping back and bowing my head further

"Can I get you anything else, Alpha Lupus?" Apparently, the confidence I had was having an effect on my voice, coming out stronger than before but I kept it steady, afraid I'd embarrass myself or overstep a line.

"No that will be all thank you, Rogue Ace." I nodded quickly and left the room, all but skipping into the kitchen and scoffing down half of my plate, though the workers had already finished

"Might want to take it, slow newbie. Don't want you choking to death so I have to do work again." Louvel smirked towards me and I offered a light smile, knowing there was a very strong hint of truth to her words. I followed the twins over to the warriors quarters after breakfast was finished, the younger twin smoking out of some poor wolf's window and Adolfina sighed, going to clean the toilets when she realised her sister wouldn't be participating in work today. My smile remained in its place on my lips despite Louvel's constant talking and before I knew it, I was in my room changing into a baby blue top and my black denim overall shorts, the warm sun outside enticing me into its arms. I found Jet by the gardening shed, where he held the watering can out to me

"Get watering princess." I think he mistook my smile as being caused by him but to avoid the awkward conversation and wanting to keep Ethan and I's night to myself, I refrained from correcting the gardener. I took my time watering the flowers, pondering on what Salt Lake City's Alpha could possibly want me in his library for this evening, though eventually I returned to the idea of him killing me; despite his words which told me otherwise. I replaced the watering can in the shed and went to wash up for dinner, taking a shower out of habit despite not having a need for one. 6 years with humans will do that to a wolf, especially living with someone as observant as Janie which meant I had to adapt to human life quickly or risk being executed for revealing my true form to someone who had no business knowing. As I dressed back into my uniform I found myself longing for my roommate's reassuring words but brushed it off, I would be with Ethan this evening and I couldn't be upset over a girl who might have already forgotten about me. I walked into the kitchen but Raula wasn't here yet, I must be early so I leaned against the counter, fiddling with the end of my plait when someone walked in
