Ethan

I strolled into the Guardian's office that lay on the edge of the house's property and was met with bowed heads, a sight I loved to see even after all these years

"Guardian Greil. I need a consultation." I ordered and the Guardian nodded, escorting me into his consultation office and offering me a seat on the bed in the middle of the room. I growled at the assistant who was standing in the corner, who promptly scurried out of the room and left me and Greil alone.

"Greil I need you to check me for a pixie infection." I sated simply, not desiring to go into detail but hoped that my most trusted Guardian would comply. He nodded at once, moving around the room to gather his equipment. He began the process silently and moved around me expertly, hence why he was my most trusted.

"What prompts the inspection, Alpha? There are no pixies in Irvine?" Greil broke the silence as he took a small amount of blood, my inner wolf howling as he hated needles; which seemed too human-like for a werewolf but I had to ignore it

"I've had a nagging for the last few days and I needed reassuring that it was just an early stage pixie infection, Greil." I explained, not going into detail around the red-headed rogue in my house. Greil simply nodded, continuing his inspection before stepping back and shaking his head with a sigh

"Unfortunately, Alpha, there is no signs of a pixie infection. You are in perfect health as always." His head bowed to me and I growled in frustration, sitting up on the bed

"It has to be a pixie infection. It doesn't make sense otherwise." I snapped at the Guardian in front of me who looked up from his submission and gave me a cryptic look

"Ethan. I assure you, there is no pixie infection. You are healthier than any of your men at the minute. Need I remind you that we also have human forms on top of our wolf ones? This could just be a human reaction instead of a wolf one. And you know I'm not qualified in human medicine." Greil chuckled and I rolled my eyes, stepping off the table and standing taller than the Guardian in front of me. The action caused Greil to submit, just as I wanted.

"Thank you, Guardian Greil. Let us not speak of this again, I trust?" I shot the smaller man a cold glare and he nodded, eyes still trained on the floor as I sauntered out of the room, headed for breakfast when Delta Kurt joined me.

"Deryn is in the kitchen and will join us in a moment." My Delta informed me and I shot him a look, before remembering that Beta Deryn and Raula were now mates, after the last full moon. I had to let it go; after all, having a mate was the single most important thing to a wolf beside his Alpha. This was something I'd have to get used to, although I had secretly favoured Deryn for his lack of mate in the past. As we took our places in the dining room, Beta Deryn took his place to my right and Raula came in to give us our food. I noticed myself glancing behind to the kitchen hallway.

Where is she Raula? I mindlinked and she sighed as she placed a plate in front of Delta Kurt

She's clumsy Ethan. I don't think you want the pack to laugh at her if she drops something when serving breakfast. She mindlinked back and I curtly nodded, my inner wolf getting angry at the idea of the pack poking fun of the new rogue. It was a learning experience, and surely with practice she'd get better; it was still the early days of her arrival. I nodded to allow my men to start eating and they all jumped into conversations about their adventures last night after the meeting when I caught a familiar scent; Rogue Ace. I watched the hallway cautiously as she emerged, looking tiny compared to the large doorway she entered. In her arms was the breadbasket and her knuckles were white from holding it so tightly. Her red hair had been tied back in a form of a braid to show her full face; piercing blue eyes, pale complexion and hundreds of freckles littered her nose and cheekbones. I snapped out of the stupid trance I'd been in as I took notice of the pack all watching her intently as she placed the breadbasket in the centre of the table
