What's going on behind those eyes?
Behind the aimless wandering?
You seem lost.
Yet when I ask,
You put on your mask.
Everything is okay.

Words fly above your head like birds in the sky.
You see more than they think.
The language of your brain is failing,
but the language of your heart is still intact.

I see you.
I see the thread of pain laced through your everyday words.
I see your frustration when a word gets lost in the labyrinth between your brain and your mouth.
I see the colour flush your face like a rose petal when you try cover up your confusion,
But it spills out everywhere.
A river that cannot be stopped
Rushing, relentless, ruthless.
Some days it is calm and uneventful,
Even glimpses of the old, still waters peek through,
But most days are stormy,
Cloudy and uncontrollable.
They blend into one for you,
One continuous never-ending storm.

I want you to know that I still see you.
I won't deny that things have changed.
Like the weather, it is inevitable.
The waters have become murkier.
But you are still
You.
Your heart is still intact.
Confused and a little trapped,
But still intact.
Oh beautiful heart, please stay on track
