They say the most beautiful things can happen in an instant. The most wonderful things, the most breath-taking things... I believe in seconds...minutes...hours... But there is no such thing as an instant. Not anymore. Even if there was, who's to say that it would contain beauty? Wonder? Awe? In an instant, something perfect could become broken, lost. In an instant, a thread of light could break, falter...and become lost to endless darkness. In an instant, a heart, an alive and beating heart, could break. In an instant... Obliteration. My mother was gone in an instant. My father's instant was a bit longer. In that instant I knew- my life...would never be the same. The question is... What happens when an instant is over? *Warning: This story may be unsettling or disturbing for some viewers.
