"Shanley, your mother was the one who told you to be honest with me, to let me know if your feelings had changed, and not to lead me on. Can you be honest with me now? Do you still feel the same way?" Jayden's text echoed in my mind, each word carrying an emotional weight that felt like a conversation unfolding right before me. I could almost see his face, etched with a tinge of sadness, as he patiently waited for my response.
Caught off guard, I struggled to find the right words. Uncertainty was familiar to me, and navigating emotions was not my forte. I didn't want to risk losing him, yet I couldn't bring myself to falsely reassure him. In that moment, I realized that I was about to dive into a complicated tale, where the intricacies of our emotions would shape the course of our story.
