Take a trip back in time to the summer of 1979. Disco was dying, the wacky tobacky was everywhere, and the fashion was becoming a little bit better. It is also the summer that the infamous "Disco Demolition Night" took place at Comiskey Park in Chicago. Sheena struggles with her crush on the punk-rocker Jayce, Shari struggles with her family that is falling apart, and Tony has a struggle that is so deeply hidden, his best friends do not even know. Follow the three friends through a summer of love, work, danger, and melting vinyl. I was sweaty, I was out of breath, and I looked homeless by the time I arrived in front of Tony's house. I was also just in time for Jayce to show up. I stopped in my tracks as soon as I saw his shaggy halo of golden blonde hair with his signature aviators perched on the bridge of his nose. Per usual, he was wearing his deliciously tight jeans and a band t-shirt. Tonight's shirt of choice was Pink Floyd. Luckily, he didn't see me, so I ducked behind a neighbor's bush to rip the shirt off and hide it in the weeds. I popped back up only to be horrified to see Jayce and his friends staring at me. "Uh, I thought there was a cat in the bush, turns out it's just a wadded-up t-shirt. Weird," I shrugged. "Sounds like this party's about to be wild if someone's already running around naked," Jayce laughed.
