Most writing advice is not designed to help you build a stable career. It's designed to keep editors and writing coaches employed. There's a lot of bad writing advice on the internet. I've heard and believed most of it. Professional writers don't need to waste time on useless minutiae. I have a better plan: Read this book. Put the lessons into action. Build an audience. If you want to spend 600 hours deciding whether to use a semicolon or a dash, this book is not for you. But if you want a no-luck-required guide to building an audience and producing a body of work that will pay you until you die, this book is for you.

Treat this guide as an anti-guide. I don't believe in the concept of writing guides because all writing is subjective and no one-size-fits-all rules can apply to every writer. That said, it's impossible to deliberately break the rules without knowing the basics. This guide covers those basics - and why you should break them.

γ€ŠGenre: Non-Fiction》 Edited by @SharonRoden, @Merlyn_Fereira and Hemingway Editor For all new and aspiring authors. "Writing is a journey that never ends." Ever wondered how I planned writing my Wattpad books? In this book, I will tell you everything of my pre-Wattpad journey to how I began writing on Wattpad. If you think writing is easy, well you're wrong! I have gone through my own writing struggles. Cover from Canva *** Note: If you're reading this story on Teenfic.net, I didn't give them my consent to upload any of my books there. Do yourself a favour and AVOID that site at all costs. This is the worst writing guide you will ever read. I should know, I wrote it. In fact, you shouldn't even bother tapping or clicking anything other than the back button. The author is quite certain you would be better off spending hours and hours doing your own research and combing through millions of search results, writer's blogs, tumblr posts, and actual style guides written by stuffy men who wear boring suits and probably yell "Bah, humbug!" during the holiday seasons.

As a greenhorn in this writing endeavor, I found myself lacking in many aspect. Beside the fact that English is my third language and grammar is my number one enemy, I take pride on everything I do on my stories. However, I sometimes question what's what with writing, like: What's a Prologue? What do I do with Epilogue? How should I address flashbacks? Should the quotation mark be placed before or after period? I've said "said" a million times, are there any other way to say "said"? Am I writing this right? How do I WRITE RIGHT? All these mind-boggling questions have kept me up numerous nights. So to help myself and hopefully help others too, I went ahead and did my own research, both online and on my beloved hardbound books at the library, and here's what I found. ~β€’~β€’~β€’~β€’~β€’~β€’~β€’~β€’~β€’~β€’~ Take note: I'm also sharing my found knowledge through SBC's A.R.T.I.C.L.E.S ( @SBC_ARTICLES ), feel free to visit, read our issues, and follow us as well. http://www.wattpad.com/user/SBC_ARTICLES

An awful lot of the writers on Wattpad are amateur writers who think it would be fun to write a book, or a fanfiction. Whilst this will mostly consist of fanfiction, it does apply to fiction as well. Note: If what you're writing looks anything like the example below, I would highly suggest checking this out. Harry ran past the death eaters shooting spells really fastly and ducking under the death eater's spells. Lucius malfoy was at the front and he ran towards him yelling "you evil scum!" determined to avenge the death of [insert Harry Potter character] but just before he got there Voldemort turned up. Harry dueled Voldemort whilst everyone else watched in awe. "expelliarmus" "avada kedavra!" "confrigo" "crucio" Finally Harry escaped and got everyone to safety and Voldemort screamed in anger but Harry saw Draco looked very uncomfortable and then Draco ran after them because he didnt want to be evil.
