It had been a normal day for the Port Mafia. At least it seemed so, until a young boy suddenly burst into their ongoing meeting, followed by a very stressed out guard. The executives watched in shock as he latched onto Akutagawa as if they were lovers, and then ran into Mori's arms calling him Otou-san as he entered the room. Despite the fragile appearance of the boy, the aura coming off off of him was very strange. Bloodlust rolled slowly off of Mori as he hugged the boy, staring down the guard who had followed the boy in. The boy then latched himself onto Akutagawa one more time, licking his cheek before disappearing with Elise and Q, who had somehow escaped and made his way into the meeting room as well. Who is this boy? And what connection does he have to all the disasters that follow.

"One of these days, I'll stump you" I really couldn't bring myself to be mad about his correct guess. It's mostly because he enjoys my stories regardless. "One day" he begins looking around "Where's Karl?" I point to the cupboard behind us, hidden behind a pile of books and half-written manuscripts. The only sign of the raccoon was a striped tail peeking out from behind the pile. "He's been there for most of the afternoon. I haven't had the heart to disturb him"

"Well such is the life of our poor little Ryuunoske~" Dazai mocked. "Why don't you go back there and ask for his number?" Ranpo suggests, to which Akutagawa profusely shook his head. Fearless, powerful, intelligent. As one of the strongest Detective within the agency, you had everything. Consumed by guilt and regret, you are unable to let go of your past and you fear for your siblings' life within the Port Mafia. Trying to uphold your reputation in the agency with a broken soul, some days it felt like you'd fall apart if you didn't hold on tight enough. The sky wept for the lack of light, strangled by dark clouds hovering over New York City. It was a rare moment where the streets weren't filled with people, most taking refuge from the wailing sky. A young man and a raccoon take the opportunity to amble on home, basking in the solace the rain has brought. A scream, child-like and terrified, tears through the solitude. The man snaps his head up, a single violet eye peeking through dark bangs, confused and slightly annoyed. The raccoon chitters loudly and leaps off of the man's shoulder. "Karl?! What-" The man reaches forward in an attempt to grab the raccoon before it could run off, missing by a hair. He curses under his breath and begins to run after the animal. The rain falls harder, nearly blinding the man. He nearly slides off of his feet as he turns a corner, almost catching Karl. Something, no, someone, slams into him. He falls back with a huff, landing hard on the flooded street. Both eyes are revealed as he looks down, frowning. His expression freezes at the sight of sunset-colored eyes, terrified and lost. Tiny hands, pale and bruised, covered in scars, reach up to grab his shirt. "Tasukete!" Nothing is the same since. - I've had this thought for a while, because I think Edgar deserves some love (I love both the author and this character SO much) and I also think Edgar and Atsushi would get along so well. I haven't read or watched much of BSD, but I am reading as I go, so if things are inconsistent... I'm blaming it on the canon divergence. :P Anyways, I hope you all enjoy!
