    Patroclus had followed Achilles to Troy, but not like so many thought because of his Oath as a suitor of the kidnapped Helen. His motives unclear even to his closest friend Achilles, he steered 10 ships towards Troy- and following his friend and love. Emotions running high in the camp as they lay siege on Troy, Patroclus takes risks and hot-headed Achilles is left to wonder- and wonder as Patroclus follows his heart for what seems like the first time in his life. [This is a one-shot that is part of the Slash Fic Contest held by @Fanfic running May 2015~ please enjoy and sorry about the shitty description >.<] **For those of you who don't know- Achilles and Patroclus are characters in Homer's Epic "The Illiad"~ it's a great read, go check it out** {for references I used Homer's The Illiad- originally translated by E.V. Rieu and revised and updated by Peter Jones and D.C.H. Rieu}

    A barbarian king awakens to the crowing of vultures on a desolate battle-field after a clash between two warrior clans to determine who would rule the land of Vyrcurias. His memory is fragmented, as he can only recall snippets of what happened leading up to the onslaught. Once a lavish king, Kyrthas now must wander the land in search of new purpose or perhaps to rebuild his fallen empire. After crying over reading the passage of Patroclus' death in the Iliad, I realized the place these two characters have in my heart. Patroclus and Achilles linked by a filia relationship, I had to know more. I discovered the existence of The song of Achilles, it seemed the perfect book to appease my obsession, but it was in reprint, I would have to wait a month. What to do? The 14-year-old me after several crying sessions on the Iliad decided to put into words the visions I had during that reading. Now several years have passed, I have read The song of Achilles, which has also gained popularity thanks to tiktok, and I do it again every year because I can't think of the love that binds these two characters and the one I feel for them. My name is Ginevra and I sincerely hope that we like this story and can pass you my feelings P.S. if you are interested I have a playlist on Achille's song on spotify, my name is ginxvrq

    In the grand tales of heroes and gods, some voices are destined to be forgotten. "Echoes of Polites" is the untold story of a man whose unwavering loyalty and quiet courage helped shape Odysseus's legendary journey home. Polites, a steadfast companion and friend, stood by Odysseus through the chaos of Troy, the wrath of vengeful gods, and the unrelenting trials of the sea. Yet his name remains a whisper, lost in the shadow of legends. From the horrors of war to the temptations of Circe's island and the haunting prophecies of the Underworld, this is the story of a man who was more than a follower-he was the heart of the crew, the voice of reason, and the bearer of sacrifices too great to be sung. "Echoes of Polites" is a poignant reimagining of the Odyssey, weaving themes of loyalty, humanity, and the quiet tragedies of those who walk beside greatness. This is Polites's story-a tale of devotion, loss, and the enduring weight of unspoken bonds.

    "He was half of my soul, as the poets say." This is a work of added scenes to Madeline Miller's novel, The Song of Achilles. I wrote these after reading the novel, creating little moments I felt fitting in the real book. I hope you enjoy reading these figment of my imaginations as much as I enjoyed creating them.

    THERE IS A BIT OF SWEARING. This is the ship between Patroclus and Achilles of The Illiad. I still ship Achilles and Briseus but I thought these were funny and wanted to put them here. If you don't like the ship you don't have to read. None of the stuff is mine, I just thought some people might want to see it. There is also a little other stuff sprinkled throughout it. Again, the art and stuff is not mine.

    I have always adored Greek mythology, trying to consume as much knowledge as I could, about famed Paris, Jason, Agamemnon, Theseus and mighty Zeus. But more interesting still have I found the women that's stood beside them. And especially those who stood against them. I would like to cover the Mother's, Maidens, Wives, Spurned lovers, Monsters and Goddesses that live in Greek Myth and are so painfully ignored. Also, the painting is 'The anger of Achilles' by Jacques-Louis David Updates will be sporadic but hopefully not too long in between
