"how can I blame you? The guilt is all mine." She says, a tear slipping away from her eyes. He doesn't reply.
"Last time?" She asks after a momentary silence. He swallows the lump in his throat and replies, "last time."
"Why," she asks her voice cracking. "It was supposed to happen. You were supposed to heal. One day or someday. And it's now, today. I have to go.. you have to 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘨𝘰.." he replies, his eyes not meeting hers.
"I can't," she says almost immediately. "You can. You will." He says, finally looking up.
She shakes her head, tears falling down her cheeks. She feels his hand on her cheeks, wiping off her tears, but they continue to roll down.
"Please?" He says hiccuping the word out.
"N-no.." she says, and suddenly her surroundings feel colder again. The warmth against her cheeks gone. She looks up, and he is nowhere there.
He is gone. 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳.
She falls on her knees, trying to grab and secure his scent, his warmth, his smile, his memories, his voice. But it's fading away. Going farther from her reach.
She's forgetting his face.
She's forgetting him.
She's even forgetting herself.
Like something inside her is being rewritten, piece by piece.
Until there's no "her" left to hold on to
what remained,
..was all 𝘩𝘪𝘴.
