Once Seonghwa gets to the amusement park, he looks around where he met up with Wooyoung last time, but doesn't see him there so he calls him. Wooyoung tells him they're almost there, so Seonghwa sits on a bench and waits for him and San.
As he watches people walk past him, he notices most of the people who come here are couples or families. He doesn't feel like he has either one of those.
Thankfully his cousins Hongjoong and Wooyoung are always there for him and all, but for some reason he still feels lonely.
He feels like something is missing in his life and he definitely knows what.
Yeosang.
He regrets ever breaking up with him, but now due to his poor decision, Yeosang has moved on and he has no chances with him anymore. Last time he saw him at the party, Yeosang was with a guy the whole time, which is why Seonghwa couldn't even go up to him and try talking to him.
Seonghwa notices he's sitting across the ferris wheel and can't help but smile when he remembers how Yeosang figured out he was scared of heights.
Yeosang knew him and understood him so well.
Seonghwa misses him.
Just as he looks up, he notices Yeosang walking over to him. "Am I dreaming?" Seonghwa mumbles and shakes his head.
But he wasn't dreaming. Yeosang was walking over to him, but it looks like he hadn't realized... because when their eyes meet, he gets a confused look on his face.
Yeosang stops walking, not sure what to do. He doesn't want to seem rude if he just walks away, but he also doesn't know if he feels ready to talk to Seonghwa yet. He wants to, but he's afraid it'll be so awkward like last time.
They've only ever seen each other once since Seonghwa moved back here, and they didn't have much to say that time.
Well, they had a lot to say, but neither of them said anything to each other.
Seonghwa waves at him and gives him a small smile, which leaves no other option to Yeosang other than walking over to him and saying hi.
"Hey." Yeosang waves at him as soon as he gets to where he is. "What are you doing here?" He asks but mentally facepalms himself. What he's doing here isn't even his business. Why would he ask?
"Wooyoung invited me here." Seonghwa tells him. "What about you?"
"Oh... San invited me here."
"Oh, I see." Seonghwa nods. "Come sit." He sits down on the bench again and pats the empty spot next to him.
Yeosang hesitates at first, but ends up sitting next to him, a little too far away from him. When Seonghwa notices, he looks down at his hands, not knowing what to say.
"How come you didn't bring your boyfriend today?" Seonghwa asks him, mentally facepalming himself right after.
"My boyfriend?" Yeosang turns to look at him with a confused look on his face.
"That guy you were with the last time I saw you." Seonghwa clarifies.
"You saw me with someone?" Yeosang thinks about it and realizes he probably means the guy he was talking with at the party. "Oh, he's just a classmate of mine. He's Mingi's brother so that's why he was there in the first place."
"Oh." Seonghwa just nods, looking away and trying to hide his smile.
"So how've you been?"
"Good." Seonghwa tells him. "You?"
"Terrible." Yeosang thinks to himself. "Good." He tells him. After a while of silence, Yeosang tries getting out of this awkward situation. "I have to go to the restroom. I'll be right back." He stands up but Seonghwa quickly follows him and takes his arm before turning him around.
"What are you-" Yeosang starts but is taken by surprise when Seonghwa pulls him in for a hug.
"I missed you." Seonghwa hugs him tightly. "I missed you so much."
Yeosang stays quiet as he feels a few tears roll down his cheeks.
"You don't know how much I've regretted breaking up with you and moving away. I've regretted it so much and I wish I could turn back time just to stop myself from doing that." He pulls away from the hug, trying to see Yeosang's reaction.
Yeosang looks away, still not saying anything.
"Yeosang, I know I was an idiot for breaking up with you. I know I was... but for some reason I thought that'd be what was best for you. I felt so guilty back then and didn't want to put you through all of that."
"I understand you needed time." Yeosang nods. "But why would you move away? Why would you go somewhere and not even tell me where you were going? Don't you understand that I love you? You breaking up with me hurt me more than anything else could've."
"Y-you still love me?" Seonghwa asks him, not sure if he heard right. It's been two years since he and Yeosang broke up so he wouldn't have been surprised if Yeosang had moved on by now, but hearing him say those three words made him have hope. "Please forgive me." Seonghwa says, desperately, and is about to get on his knees. Yeosang looks around and sees people staring at them as they walk past them.
"Get up." Yeosang takes his arm and pulls him up before he can do so. He then takes his hand and pulls him towards the bench they were sitting on a few minutes ago. They stay quiet for a while but then Yeosang finally speaks up. "I can't imagine how you must have felt back then..." He starts. "So these past two years I've really tried to understand you. And all I can say is that... I've missed you."
Seonghwa can't help but smile as he feels tears roll down his face.
"I just wish you wouldn't have had to go through all that by yourself." Yeosang tells him. "I never thought differently about you after that. I wouldn't want to bring it up, but... it was clearly your mother's fault, not yours. I actually really admire you for being able to go to the police and telling them what she did."
"R-really?"
"We've already wasted two years without each other. Let's no waste any other minute."
"S-so does that mean..."
"Do you still love me?" Yeosang asks him.
"With all my heart." Seonghwa nods.
"Then you're my boyfriend again." He reaches for his hand and stands up. "And this time... you can't break up with me. I won't let you."
"It's not like I'd ever break up with you again." Seonghwa smiles and holds his hand tightly.
"Where are Wooyoung and San anyway?" Yeosang looks around. "It's been a while."
"Boo!" They hear from behind them, which startles them. They turn around and see Wooyoung and San sitting on the bench Yeosang and Seonghwa were just sitting on.
"When did you two get here?"
"We were behind you two the whole time." San tells them and Wooyoung hits his arm.
"Why would you admit that?" He mumbles.
"The whole time?"
"Yeah, it's like you were filming a drama or something." Wooyoung admits. "Where are the cameras?" He looks around.
"Wow, a little privacy would've been nice..." Seonghwa frowns.
"You two are literally standing in an amusement park full of people. Sannie and I were not the only ones listening. I think the people here really thought you were filming a movie or something."
"Anyway... yay! We can finally go on double dates again." San smiles.
"Yeah! Today could be our first double date!" Wooyoung says, excitedly.
"Let's go." Yeosang holds Seonghwa's hand tightly and they all start walking around the amusement park
