Sarah walked to the deck of the ship, watching Valentine and Jace, who just kidnapped a werewolf, "A wolf will say anything to go free, but she can never change what she is. You let her live, son, and she will kill again and again and again." Valentine said, trying to convince his son to kill the innocent werewolf.

"Jace!" Clary called out to the blonde Shadowhunter, "Clarissa, how nice of you to join us. Perhaps you can convince your brother to finish what he started."

Sarah clenched her jaw tightly as she stared at the redhead. Clary turned to her brother, "Jace, I need you to listen to me." She started before casting a look at the brunette, who nodded at her in encouragement

With newfound confidence, Clary turned to Jace, "Everything I said before, I was under a spell. Run!" She informed him quickly, taking his hands in hers and running.

"Jonathan!" Valentine called out to his son as more men came upon the deck, "Jonathan! There's no way out." He called out again.

Sarah, with her bow and arrow, started shooting the men who were running towards Jace. The blonde Shadowhunter fought the men with his blade taking out as many men as possible with his sister's help.

When most men were defeated, Jace took Clary's hand running again while the brunette was shooting anyone who dared get near the couple.

Sarah nodded at Dot. The warlock used her magic to let the wards around the ship down, giving Jace and Clary a way to go out, "Jace, we have to go now! Jace!" She called out, yelling to the blonde who was searching for his sister.

"Sarah!" Jace called out to the brunette who was busy killing men with her blade. She turned around to look at Jace.

"Go," She shouted, slowing the men and women who had almost surrounded the couple. Jace and Clary took the chance to jump from the ship.

Sarah sighed a sigh of relief, putting her bow down, staring at the spot where Jace and Clary just jumped from disappearing into the ocean.

Men and woman who worked for Valentine surrounded the brunette who didn't put up a fight as they held her from her forearms, "Why am I not surprised?" Valentine asked, approaching the brunette who looked defiantly at her father.

Valentine shook his head in disappointment before turning to his men, "Take her down," He ordered them.

The brunette was shackled to the ceiling with cuffs on each hand. She was screaming in pain as flashbacks of memories passed through her mind. When the pain was finally gone, she was sweating with a ragged breath. She turned to look at Valentine, who just entered the room, "Agony, rune. You must be in a hurry," She breathed out, swallowing heavily.

He snickered, approaching Sarah with his hands behind his back, "That I am. I'm abandoning the ship along with you for the Clave to find," He stated to the brunette, who scoffed in response to his plans, "Why am I not surprised?"

Valentine shook his head, "I thought we could be civil for once, Sarah" He started eying the brunette who laughed humorlessly at him.

"Well, you thought wrong. I was never going to stand by and watch you kill innocent Downworlders. Not again"

Valentine scoffed, "You always had a soft spot for them." He tilted his head, eying the brunette who looked down, "Who was it that you fell for this time? A vampire? A werewolf?" He paused for a second, "Or a warlock?" He suggested with narrowed eyes as she looked back up at him, betraying her instincts to avoid telling Valentine anything.

Valentine smiled as he figured it out himself, "Always so predictable. You just can't learn your lesson, can you? Falling yet again for those you should be hunting," He said in frustration as he watched her.

Her face lacked any reaction, her eyes not betraying her as she sneered at him, "You want those with demon blood dead, so why don't you just kill me and get it over with? After all, I'm not so different from them. You turned me into a monster. " She inquired with a clenched jaw.

Valentine composed himself, "What kind of a father kills his own daughter?" He wondered with furrowed eyebrows.

"Cut the crap, we both know damn well that you're not my father," She snapped at him, her lip quivering in anger, watching the man who raised her.

He ignored her outburst, sighing, "Perhaps the time that you'll spend at the city of bones will clear your mind" He turned around, walking away from the brunette, "I'll see you soon, Sarah," He sang, walking out of the room.

And true to his words, after a few hours, Shadowhunters swarmed the place with their blades in hand, freeing the brunette sending her to the city of bones under Aldertree's orders.

She sat on the floor with her knees to her chest and head between her chest and knees, "Sarah?" She looked up upon hearing her name being called, her face was bruised, and her clothes were worn out and dirty.

"Jocelyn. Came to watch your daughter die once and for all finally," Sarah stated, putting her hands on the wall for support as she was trying to stand up.

Jocelyn shook her head, watching her daughter with soft eyes, "No, I never intended for this to happen," She admitted approaching the bars.

Sarah titled her faking a pout, "Oh, of course, you didn't, you're the innocent mother, and Valentine is the evil dad, isn't that the story they tell kids nowadays, but I wouldn't know that, didn't have a mother to tell me bedtime stories before sleep or a father for that fact" She said sarcastically with raised eyebrows.

Jocelyn nodded, pursing her lips, "Sarah, I understand the pain that I put you through, but---" Sarah scoffed, cutting the redhead off.

"Do you? Do you have any idea of the extend of the damage that you've done to me? to Jace?" She wondered with furrowed eyebrows. Jocelyn looked away, unable to look her daughter in the eye.

But Sarah continued nonetheless, "You stand here and act as if you're virtuous when all of this is because of you because you couldn't accept your children for what they are, because you chose the easiest way out, condemning your children to a life filled with pain and suffering. So don't come here and tell me that you understand." Sarah blurted out, trembling in anger.

Sarah's eyes were glistening with unshed tears, and her voice cracked, making Jocelyn look up at her, but the brunette was far from being finished, so she continued.

"There were moments when I laid awake at night wishing for a mother, but all that mother did was abandon me even tried to kill me. Valentine may have done terrible things to me, but you....you could've been the one who saved me from it all. Valentine isn't the evil one in this story. It's you, Jocelyn," She said the last sentence with a low tone as tears were now sliding on her cheek.

All the anger pent up from spending all these years alone, tortured, and suffering came piling up like a raged volcano, but how could anyone blame her after all everyone she loved was taken away from her.

Jocelyn was stunned. She knew that her past actions must've hurt the brunette, but perhaps she thought it wasn't that bad that she would be able to fix it, but the situation was from it as Sarah continued.

"So go back to Clary, the daughter you love and swore to protect while you left the other one behind," Sarah stated with disdain as she is watching Jocelyn lost for words to say.

Jocelyn's eyes were shining with tears at this point, "I'm so sorry, I was young, I was scared, and I had no idea what Valentine did to you and your brother, I didn't know what he created, There's not a day that passes by where I don't regret this decision" She admitted, it was no excuse for what she did but what else would she say.

Sarah shook her head, "No, you thought we were abominations, freaks of nature, a thing that shouldn't exist, and you chose to terminate it. Just admit that you wanted us dead, that you never even loved us," Sarah yelled at the redhead who flinched from the brunette's harsh voice, taking a step back.

Jocelyn looked down, defeated, contemplating what to say before looking up at the brunette, "I know that no apology in this world will make up for the things that I've done to you, but I loved you, Sarah; you, and Jace."

Sarah shook her head, "Too bad it won't change anything," She said before walking back to her previous position on the floor, ignoring the redhead who took a few seconds before finally leaving.
