“So what happened last night?” Sarah asked me as we sat down in the staff room at work. It was break time and the first chance I had to catch up with her today. We both worked at the local primary school, I was a teaching assistant in reception and Sarah was a teaching assistant in year 2. Luckily we were the only ones in the staff room right now.
I groaned as an answer.
“That bad?” she laughed at me whilst I frowned at her.
“I’m glad you find this so funny Sarah! It was the worst night ever. He basically told me he fancied me. We kissed and I pushed him away cos it felt wrong! And then he left as quick as he could!” I slouched further into my chair and put my head in my hands “I’m a bad person aren’t I?” I turned to ask my friend.
“Of course not! You’re just confused that’s all. I mean Liam is the first guy who’s been nice to you properly in the last 2 years, because Ben was a complete dick to you!” she placed a hand on my shoulder “babe you will be fine” she smiled encouragingly at me.
“I know. I just felt so bad, he looked so hurt”
“He will be fine Amy. Don’t worry about him; you know he will be alright in a few days. Onto other matters though, Jake has told me that a certain young man has been asking him about you and Liam” she wiggled her eyebrows at me
“Calum?” I whispered back
She nodded at me smiling “yup. Apparently he was quite interested in what was going on between you guys”
I laughed but noticing the time I groaned again “we best get back to the little darlings!”
Sarah frowned “4 days till the weekend” she sighed “I’ll see you later babe” and off she went back to her classroom. I smiled as she left. It was great how we both managed to get jobs here. I got my position first whilst Sarah worked in a nursery but then a job came up and I managed to convince the head that I knew the exact person for the job and 2 years later we were both still here!
The rest of the week flew by and before I knew it, it was Thursday. Nothing had happened during the week and I hadn’t heard from Liam or Calum. Sarah kept dropping hints when I saw her at work that he would text but I wasn’t overly sure that he would. But that night as I was then washing up my plate from tea, I heard my phone ping. I dried my hands on the tea towel and walked through to the lounge where my phone was laid on the sofa. As soon as I noticed who it was from, my heartbeat got quicker, it was from Calum. I quickly pressed open.
‘Hey Amy. I know this may seem random but didn’t really get to speak to you much at the club as your mouth seemed to be busy :p are you free tomorrow night for a catch up? And maybe this time I’ll be the one to keep your mouth busy ;) xx’
I was speechless. I had no idea what to say, he had a girlfriend and he was insinuating that we kiss?! But I was intrigued to see him none the less so I text him back
‘Hey Cal. Yeah a catch up sounds good where? Will Jenny be coming? Xx’
Yes I know I completely ignored his naughty comments but I was too nervous to reply to them bits. He text back instantly.
'Your place? I can bring some wine maybe? No she won’t be coming. Just you and me. If that’s ok with you? Xx’
I immediately wondered why Jenny wouldn’t be coming but pushed it to the back of my mind as I sent a text back.
'My place is fine. Ill text you the address tomorrow? Any time after 7 is good for me :) xx’
His reply was immediate ‘ok babe. I’ll see you tomorrow at 7 ;) xx’
*next day*
Sarah was ecstatic when I told her my plans for tonight even though I had to remind her that Calum had a girlfriend. But I was looking forward to it. We had never really spent time together just us 2 even though he was like best friends with Jake.
It was quarter to 7 and now I was nervous. Id kept my clothes casual just skinny jeans and a black silk blouse. I didn’t want to look like I had made too much effort so I kept my hair down and wavy. I set 2 wine glasses out on the coffee table and waited for him to come. I had text him the address during the day. 6.55pm and there was a knock at the door. I crept slowly to it, taking a big breath to calm me before I opened it and there he was stood. All 6ft of gorgeousness. He was dressed casually in jeans and a black jumper. His brown hair was styled tonight and his brown eyes were piercing through mine, when he broke my gaze to look me up and down. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. He passed me the wine.
“Hey Amy” he smiled warmly at me.
“Hi Cal” I smiled back whilst holding the door open for him as he passed his arm grazed against mine and I instantly felt the sparks fly through us, he looked down at me and smirked. I followed him through to the kitchen.
“I didn’t know what wine you liked so I had to ask Sarah so if it’s wrong blame her!” he laughed. His laugh was so sexy; I had forgotten just how sexy it was. I looked down at the wine and saw my favourite Rose’ wine.
“She got it right it’s my favourite” I smiled back
“Great. Right where’s the bottle opener and some glasses?” he questioned
“There already in the lounge” and I walked him through to the lounge. I passed him the wine and took a seat on the sofa next to the end but turned inwards so that I could watch him. He picked up the bottle and opened it. He poured us a big glass each and passed me mine whilst he took a seat next to me on the sofa. He was just a cushion width away from me. My stomach fluttered again.
“So Cal, what brings you back to town?” I asked him
“I finished my teacher training and my old high school offered me the P.E. teacher position so at the minute I’m house hunting” he smiled warmly at me
“Oh that’s great Cal congratulations! Will Jenny be moving here with you?” I caught his eyes and stared into them
“Erm… not right away. If she does at all. That’s why she’s not here tonight as she’s back in London” he looked back at me. I wondered if he was feeling the connection like I was or maybe it was just me. He readjusted himself and got closer to me. “What happened with Ben then? Although I am glad you split up with the prick” he laughed
I smiled back “he cheated on me quite a few times but he was the one who ended it in the end” I could feel his gaze on me
“He's clearly an idiot though for cheating on you! Do you miss him?” he asked his eyes piercing into mine.
“No actually I don’t. I’ve been happier this past week than I have been for 2 years. I just realised it was all a lie”
“Good for you Amy. What about you and Liam then?” he wiggled his eyebrows at me
I laughed “were just friends that’s all” I smiled back. I then noticed that his arm was draped along the back of the sofa and his hand was inches away from me. “How are you and Jenny?” I asked not really wanting to know the answer.
“Were ok but I’m not really sure. I don’t think she wants to move so I can see myself being single soon” he grinned at me.
I giggled “I don’t think you’ll be short of female attention Cal. You never were”
“Maybe I just want one girl’s attention” he winked at me and I felt myself blush. I took a mouthful of my wine “and who would that be?” I bravely asked him
He leant in closer to me “she will just have to wait and see” I blushed again as I felt his warm breath on my face “you look cute when you blush Amy”
I playfully whacked his arm and he caught it in his hand. I gulped as I felt the same sparks again. He leant in closer to me so our noses were nearly touching “did I mention how sexy you look tonight Amy?” I shook my head. He bent down to whisper in my ear “you look extremely sexy tonight Amy” and he then nibbled on my ear lobe. I gasped as I felt him smirk against my neck. He then began to gently kiss it. Sucking and kissing at the same time. I groaned as I wrapped my arms around his neck, my hands tugging on his hair as I pulled his head to mine so that my lips could find his. He kissed me gently at first but the kiss gradually got more passionate and urgent as we were both pulling each other closer like we never wanted to let go.
The kiss was getting deeper as his tongue ran along my lower lip; I groaned and let him enter as our tongues discovered each other. He tasted delicious. I ran my hands down his chest as he held me close as he navigated us so that he was lying on top of me. I could feel his six pack and I just wanted to kiss every part of it. His hands grabbed my sides as he rubbed his erection between my thighs. I gasped in pleasure, he felt big through his jeans. He moaned into my mouth causing a wetness starting to appear in my knickers. He was starting to unbutton my blouse when the image of Jenny came in my head. What was I doing?! Calum had a girlfriend and here I was making out with him on my sofa. I pushed him away.
He looked surprised “what’s wrong Amy?” he asked panting. His eyes full of lust were watching me intently.
I looked up at him “you have a girlfriend Cal” I whispered
He shut his eyes then opened them to look at me “shit. I’m sorry Amy”
He got up and readjusted himself “I better go” he bent down and kissed me on the cheek and turned and left. I heard the front door click shut and that’s when the tears came out. I wasn’t going to be the other woman. It wasn’t fair on me or Jenny. I gulped down my wine and the rest of his. I was going to get drunk or at least try! Within the next 20 minutes, I had finished off the wine and was lounging on the sofa watching some reality TV shit when I heard my phone ping. I sat up and opened the text.
‘I am so sorry Amy. Will you forgive me? Xx p.s I don’t regret what happened. See you soon :) Cal xx’
