"Toni! Toni! Toni wetin do you" The Hausa man called in his thick Hausa accent, as he attempted to wake her up. Toni had fallen and was like a log of wood as passersby started gathering around.

" Bring me water," the Hausa man said as someone rushed to get it. Sprinkling water on her face, Toni jerked and woke up, she sat up as she began to say thank you to the people around. As she managed to get up she fell right back and fainted, the people around her grabbing her, to make sure she doesn't fall to the ground.

" Make we carry her go hospital," someone said. And immediately she was mounted on a huge man and taken to the clinic near the area.

After a few minutes, she was attended to as the nurses tried to revive her.

"Wetin do am?" One of the women that brought her asked the head nurse.

"She's alright, she's just having morning sickness. It seems she stressed herself a lot." The nurse answered.

"Morning sickness abi wetin. Wetin that one mean" the huge man asked.

With a giggle the nurse answered, she's pregnant so it's only normal that she gets sick and dizzy at the early hours of the day. Besides, she has been stressed a lot, I need you to make sure she gets enough rest".

" Pregnant?" Toni's Hausa boss asked shocked with his funny accent.

" Na wa oo, all these small small children. How old come be this one wey don carry belle". The woman commented.

" I tire o, I'm sure she's one of those loose girls. At your age" the huge man said, stretching his hand at Toni mockingly.

"Very good, Kai I no wan see you for my shop again, you hear. I go tell all the shop owners make them no allow you work for them. Make you no corrupt the girls we the manage finish" the Hausa man said to Toni.

Tears rolled down her eyes at their words, as she pleaded with the boss not to take the decision.

"Oga, I beg, na beg I dey beg. I no get anywhere else, biko. I beg no chase me commot I beg you oga". Toni said with tears in her eyes as she managed to get off the bed and kneel.

" No beg me, Ashawo (prostitute)" the man said as the three of them left to the clinic. Leaving the nurse and Toni in the room.

Toni looked up and called out to the nurse.
" Ma, please I beg you. Please help me remove this thing inside of me, I cannot go home, I can not get a job, please ma help me".

"Oh dear, you are a young girl, how could you have gotten yourself into this" the nurse asked compassionately as bent down to help Toni up.

"It's a long story ma, and I don't wish to talk about it, please just remove this baby". She said desperately.

" We don't do that here, apart from the possibility of it going wrong. All lives are special in the eyes of God, including your baby. You might have made a mistake in the conception of this child, but the baby itself is not a mistake" The nurse stressed.

" You don't understand ma, my life is a mess and I don't mind dying alongside the baby. I'm a mess ma"

" The harlot in the Bible was a mess, Paul was a mess, Peter was a mess, even David was a mess. But God turned their mess a life into miracles and influences. It doesn't matter how much mess your life is in, all that matters is you have a chance to rewrite your story". The nurse said, her words touching Toni, making her remember the times she spent in church, learning of God, and being the good girl she was taught to be.

All her life she never thought God would possibly pay attention to her life. She was complete trash and no one, not even God, could care about her. Losing her parents, the only people who showed her love even in her weird state, broke her and she had accepted the fact that God doesn't know her.

The only part of her life people had an idea of was the part after she lost her parents. No one cares about her life before she lost her parents, no one knew. She was made to live a new life after leaving the town she used to live in. And the new life was nothing better. The mess her life was in? God wouldn't bother cleaning it up.

•••••••••••••••••••••

Mo' and Semilore stood outside Jemima's hostel, Semilore was busy typing 'thank you ' messages on her phone. While Mo' leaned in her car listening to music from the car stereo.

Mo' was deep in thoughts as she thought about the activities of the previous day. It was one fun day she would never forget, but one thing stood out for her apart from Semilore's victory. Something she couldn't stop blushing about.

The previous night, Damilare and Maria had come for the program. And as usual, unknown to others, she riled inside as she saw 'the short devil' walking with Dare.

The secret was she had a strong crush on Damilare she had tried to push aside to no avail. She successfully hid it from her friends but was always checking his pictures and stalking him on social media.

The first week of their meeting made it difficult for her to think straight about something because he was always on her mind. But she couldn't find the courage to voice out her feelings as she was shy in that aspect.

It became worse when 'the short devil' ( as she calls her secretly) came for her pre-degree. She was always upset whenever she saw them together and surprisingly, Maria was always found wherever Dare was.

She wasn't able to hang out with Dare like before as their friendship grew cold. She had lost hope and tried to forget about it until the previous night.

A few hours earlier...

The party had ended and people had started heading back to their hostels, many drunk and a lot of couples were seen together in the dark. Semiloore was so tired Mo' had to allow her to lean on her shoulders as they walked to her car.

A figure walked toward them with a smaller figure following closely. She looked in their direction and saw it was Damilare and the shameless clingy girl walking towards them. She was a bit excited to see Dare but rolled her eyes at Maria, causing her to cringe.

" Hey" Dare had greeted.

"Good evening Dare it's been a while". She replied.

" Good evening Mo'" Maria greeted, reluctantly Mo' responded.

" What's wrong with Semi" Dare asked.

"She's tired," She said looking at Semiloore. "Get she's asleep already," she said giggling.

" let's help her into the car. I need to talk to you" Dare had said. And in seconds they got Semilore into the back seat as she slept.

" Dare I have to go now, see you tomorrow" Maria excused herself. Mo' sighed as she watched her leave.

" Yeah, Mo' can I take your out for lunch tomorrow?" Dare asked with a wide grin.

"Huh?" Mo asked genuinely surprised and shocked.

"Yes, it's been a while since we last went out together" Dare said.

"Oh?" Mo' said, " With Semi and Jemi right?" She asked.

Dare smiled in a way she had never seen him smile before, his smile making butterflies form in her stomach, as she tried not to smile.

" Nope, just you and me Mo', I want to hang out with you alone".  He said.

"Wao, uh ok," she said, as she smiled unable to keep the smile locked in.

"Hope your girlfriend won't mind us hanging out?" Mo' asked as Dare burst into uncontrollable laughter, his laughter so infectious she couldn't help but laugh. "What's so funny?" She asked in between laughs.

"What girlfriend?" Dare asked.

"Maria right?"

" Jesus!!!!" Dare screamed as laughed so loud, the people around turned to see them. Mo' was unable to stop laughing too, his laughter was so so contagious. "Ok, ok!" Dare said as he tried to calm down.

"Maria is not my girlfriend oo" Dare stressed.

"Oh" Mo' said as she smiled evilly.

" Maria is just my friend. Just like Jemi,  just that we are a bit closer. We attend the same church and went to the same secondary school"

" Wao, ok. Just that she's so clingy I couldn't help but wonder".

" Yeah, that's because she finds it hard to make new friends and I put her through a lot of things. Besides her class is not far from my faculty, we also attend the same fellowship. That's why it seems we are always together". Dare explained.

"Oh, I thought she stole you from us" Mo' blurted out.

"Wait are you jealous?" Dare asked as he began another round of laughter.

" No, no Dare, please stop" Mo' complained as she laughed too.

"Okay okay," Dare said. "I'm sorry for being far from you guys. You especially as par my G" Dare added as he laughed and I blushed.
"Let me make it up to you, You Morire by taking you out for lunch". He asked as he pouted, causing Mo's heart to flutter.

" okay ok, stop making that face" Mo' said. "Tomorrow then, I need to get home now, Thanks Dare".

" Okay, Mo' tomorrow then". He said as he pulled her into a hug, allowing Mo' to inhale the smell of his cologne. As he broke the hug he kissed her forehead, causing her to freeze. He walked away and said bye at a reasonable distance.

"Take care, Morire" he hollered as he waved.

Present time......

A smile crossed her face as she remembered, she was also thinking of the excuse she would give her friends to escape the day's hang out plans.
