ZetaSci Facility, Underground | 9:57 PM
"Ugh..." Remi slowly opened her eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling, Huh where am I? The second she tried to move her body, she felt intense pain on her left arm. "Ack!"
"Remi! You're awake!" Blyke shouted, relieved his best friend survived for yet another day
"B-Blyke? W-where are we?" Remi looked around, and noticed the same woman that 'helped' them that time, "Are we safe?"
"Yeah, that lady healed you"
*tat...tat*
Remi glanced over at Leilah that was walking closer, noticing that she just woke up. Remi didn't notice at first, but Leilah's presence made the air around feel thick
"How do you feel?" Leilah asked
"My arm still hurts a bit" Remi looked at her arm, that was barely able to move. The muscles seemed to be still recovering. Although it was healed, the scars were still there "W-where are we?"
"Before that, let's move somewhere more private" Leilah replied in a serious manner, "I have something to discuss with both of you"
Remi and Blyke looked at each other with puzzled eyes and nodded in agreement. They followed Leilah, while observing the activities inside the facility, and couldn't helped to get overwhelmed by all of it
"Are you nervous?" Leilah asked, "Don't worry, most of my employees here are low-to-mid tiers"
So... she's the sort of 'leader' in this place? And what are these people doing?
*ding!* The elevator opened, and it led them to the top floor. The environment felt instantly different. This time, it really felt like just a normal office building
ZetaSci CEO Office
The office setting made the two kids nervous. They were just high-schoolers, so all this was too much to take for them for a single day. They entered this luxurious room, which was Leilah's workplace
Remi perceived the room, and noticed something. There were numerous awards and certificates framed on the walls with the name ZetaSci
Is she the CEO of ZetaSci...? Then she must be Seraphina's—
"Take a seat" She pointed them to a comfortable couch. They sat down formally...nervously, while Leilah was across

"You kids became superheroes. May I ask why?"
"My brother..." Remi's face darkened, "It was to get back at them for murdering my brother, at first"
"At first?" Leilah raised an eyebrow
"Now, we just feel like it's the right thing to do" Remi replied with full confidence of her statement
"When did you take those amplifiers?"
Figured she would know. My body must've gotten examined before I was healed. And it almost feels like we're being interrogated right now.
"Just before you came, ma'am. We actually fought off two people"
"Two people!?" Leilah seemed surprised by this. If she had known, she would've definitely brought the other guy. But Remi didn't know this, since she was unconscious the whole way, so she looked at Blyke with a puzzled expression
"She wanted to bring those people here, but she just brought the guy that slashed your arm" Blyke began, without even being asked

"Then..." Leilah continued, "Why did you get injured so badly if you were amplified?"
That was a good question, but one where Remi doesn't know the answers yet. "I... I don't know. Maybe the drug doesn't instantly take effect?"
Leilah didn't respond, yet she just put her finger on the chin, deep in thought. Remi suddenly felt a bump on her leg. It was Bylke that shoved his leg to hers, giving her the 'Why are you giving information to a stranger so easily?' look.
"It's fine, Bylke." Remi assured, "She's Seraphina's sister"

"W-what!?" He snapped his eyes wide open "Are you for real!?" He switched his sight to Leilah, trying to process the fact
"Then, you must be friends with my little sister?" Leilah asked, and Remi nodded. "Well, that's good" With a relieved sigh, she cracked a slight smile. "She really wasn't the social type when I last interacted with her"
Yeah... I can kinda see where she's coming from. Remi thought with an awkward smile, reminiscing when she first met Sera
"Anyway... back to the topic" Leilah continued, "Why did you amplify yourself?"
"It's only fair." Remi replied, with full disgust written on her face, clenching her fists as hard as she could "I'm pretty sure my brother died fighting them, unfairly, with people using these drugs to murder him"
"Seems like you really want to kill those EMBER people, do you?" Leilah asked nonchalantly, with her legs entwined
"No. I just wanted to stop them." Remi replied, "But since it's always ending up of them wanting to kill me, I had no option but to defend myself"
"Seems like the authorities are really dead set on erasing superheroes. What a surprise" Leilah sarcastically said. Remi gave off a tired expression. She just doesn't know what to do regarding EMBER. She thought that amplifying her powers would make her easier on deciding to avenge her brother, but the thought of murdering someone just doesn't sit right with her. "Remi. Blyke." With a serious look, Leilah began. "Do both of you want to join us?"
"H-huh!?" The two kids simultaneously said.
"But... we don't know what your company does yet, miss" Remi stated
"Oh right! Were are my manners?" She Instantly went from a scary serious face, to a clumsy expression. "See. On the outside, ZetaSci is your typical company that develops high-tech gadgets. But... what we actually do is..." the conversation went on for the rest of the night...
Present day...
The lightning struck from the sky, down to her own self and to Arlo's barrier. It was so strong, that the barrier seemed to shatter completely to dust. The sound of thunder echoed through the school, and everyone turned cautious. Remi managed to warp a fair distance away with her new warping powers.
I didn't mean to destroy his barrier and hurt him like that. Remi thought. The amplifier seems to be working now, and I didn't expect it to be this strong. She looked at her own hands, clenching it, to get a better grasp on her new powers.
But just as she thought she got away from Arlo, a new person arrived. "Remi!"
"John...?"
