"You seem surprisingly enthusiastic for someone who hasn't been around in almost 4 years" Jennifer snickered from beside me while we drove.
I just rolled my eyes "maybe that's why I'm excited" I told her knowing damn well that I did have some other anterior motive nothing she needed to worry her pretty little head about anyways
Jennifer had mentioned something to me about her uncle hunter also staying there because him and his wife were going through something and he needed space away from her I didn't know what that was about neither did I care I more or so looked at this as an opportunity a second chance perhaps I mean this time the cards actually did play in favor of me somewhat
"What's you thinking about there buddy?"

Jen laughed while staring straight at the road "your just smiling really hard over there I'm a bit curious"
Damn I hadn't even realized but I needed ti make up an excuse fast "what? am I supposed to have a resting bitch face all day?" I laughed nervously

But thankfully We finally pulled up into the familiar mansion that I remember all too well Jennifer parked her car in the garage before we both stepped out she came over next to me "ready"?
"Let's go" I responded taking her hand in mine.
We walked up to the door steps and when we reached the front door Jennifer rung the bell an old woman who dressed in a maid uniform opened the door neither Jennifer or I recognized her so we said a quick hello out of politeness then went searching for Jennifers family.
We walked into the direction of Laura and Heath bedroom.
I moved to open the door but saw that it was locked so Jennifer stepped aside and pressed her ear against the door when she turned back around her eyes were open wide "what?" I Asked her.
"There a little.......busy right now come on let's go down to the living room and wait" She said while shuddering I finally gotten the jist of what she meant and I chuckled to myself.
We sat down in the living room waiting for them to finish their business 30 minutes later we were still waiting we even unpacked our things and changed clothes still no sign of them.
Damn they had stamina.
Due to Jennifer and I getting tired of waiting we decided to go to Dunkin' Donuts to get ourselves some pastries.
When I twisted the door knob to open the front door I came face-to-face with Jonathon A.k.a. Jennifers older brother when he saw me he looked me up and down before whistling.
He pulled his shades down to the rest at his nose then smirked "You are?" He asked flirtatiously
I scoffed could this guy be any more Cringe I bought my hands up to his face then shoved him back making him flip his head "yeah right" I told him before Jennifer and I walked away well not before Jennifer gave him a quick hug.
"You ain't have to do him like that babe" Jennifer Grinned from beside me as we began walking "girl you know your brother a walking STD since I've met him from day 1 I had to make it clear I wasn't tryna catch nothing"
"You know Id never let that happen" she winked while smiling.

"Well it doesn't matter now since I'm taken all should be forgiven for my past sins yours would be too I'm sure of it if you were cuffed that is" Jen said while throwing her head back in laughter
"Girl you better not let me get on you over there all cocky and shit thinkin I don't know what the tea is" I told her snuggly knowing she'd still try and push it .
"Don't push you too what huh?" She taunted.
Alright she asked for it.
"Let's just say if I didn't already know how smart you were I'd think you were doing it for the grade's" after that statement if been rewarded with a red faced Jen catching on to what I meant
She stopped walking and looked up at me with a shocked look on her face I don't know why I was bound to find out sooner or later "h-how did y-".
I interrupted her stuttering "you guys aren't as discreet as y'all think y'all are sweetie" I told her while patting on her right cheek.
"Plus he left his wallet at our dorm" she gasped as we continued to walk.
"Heaven I'm sorry i didn't tell you soo-" once again I cut her off " I was bound to find out sooner or later so don't sweat it come on I'm your best friend and also you did tell me you've had a secret boyfriend for almost 2 years almost now" I shrugged.
"I'm a curious person"
She cleared her throat "well I guess since we have established that then......all I'm trying to say is that gray is in love with you and you only you associate him as your "fuck buddy".
By now we were almost at the mansion "all right Jennifer I'm only gonna tell you this once so that'd you'd understand the minute what ever happened between gray and I HE was the one that came up to me with the no stings attached agreement and I agreed cause honestly I myself wasn't looking for anything serious either I don't know how or when he caught feelings but I'm not reciprocating them what we have between us is a mutual attraction nothing more I hope I don't have to explain this to you again" the smile that once graced her face was no longer there.
"Heaven all I want is for you to be happy OK nothing more I just don't want you to miss out on a chance to be happy with someone who you can maybe love if you just let it happen" she couldn't be any more wrong I certainly did not need a man to find my happiness I myself could take care of that job perfectly fine.
"You make me happy enough" I told her kissing her cheek while wrapping my arms around her waist from behind choosing to stick with the simple answer.
We arrived at the mansion 5 hours later jennifer took out her keys to unlock the door "I love you too boo" we stepped into the mansion and headed straight towards the living room.
On our walk to the living room my mind drifted to if he was here yet I sure hoped so.
I wasn't a miner anymore so I had nothing to worry about by now he'd at least have to be about 35 years old and I was 21 so I'm fine.
Now you may thinking that I'm obsessed with guy and yes to confirm your suspicion yes i was but not crazy obsessed just obsessed I couldn't get him out of my head these past few years.
Jennifer would tell me how he hasn't visited them ever since he got married something about moving to Los Angeles and running some business there.
The only contact he's made was through the phone and that was brief sometimes I couldn't help but to think it was because of me though but that would just be me thinking too cocky cause it couldn't be the reason right?
We finally reached the living room and we saw Laura sitting on Heath lap engaging in a conversation.
When Laura's eyes met Jennifer and I she quickly squealed as she got up from Heath lap and gave us both a warm greeting and hug Heath was not too far from behind her with a big grin attached to his face.
"My baby" Laura kept babbling towards Jennifer like she didn't just visit the girl at compus 3 weeks ago.
"Oh my you girls look so gorgeous" Laura said coming over to me and holding my hands to spin me around.
"Maaa" Jennifer groaned "you just seen us both like yesterday" Laura just rolled her eyes.
"Anywa-" Laura started but the doorbell ringing stopped her "let me give Claudia a break in the kitchen since she's already setting up dinner so I'll get that" Heath said.
Now Laura was smiling wide "I think hunters finally here" I perked up hearing the mention of him I smothered out my clothes and took down my box braids from its tight ponytail letting them flow down freely.
Both Laura and Jennifer looked at me in question "my ponytail was getting a little tight" I told them.
"Understandable" Jen said hopefully not reading to much into it
Just in time both Heath and hunter walked in laughing Heath patting on hunters shoulder he looked as handsome as ever I seen he had a bit of a mustache on him now and he looked a little more ripe then the last time other than that nothing had really changed.
When his Eyes stopped on me it was as it was only the two of us in the living room whereas everybody else had just vanished we held it there for a good 15 seconds before he broke away averting his eye site elsewhere away from me
He greeted everybody with a hug then when he came over to me to greet me he seemed a bit awkward but he embraced me anyways I'd noticed how he left some space between our chest and leg though so I took it upon myself to close it and hug him hard and breathing in his scent like it was the oxygen that I breathed he broke away from me pushing me off of him.
Well okay then that's how he wanted to do this
