“Once we have collected enough skilled people, we will go to that sickening military and save those people.”

It won't be easy and the plan might change halfway. Nevertheless, we need to fulfill this goal to save humanity that's on the brick of wipeout.

“How long until we can save those people?” Yuri asked so seriously, which I know, if there's anyone I could fully depend on Zeon's team, it's her.

Dreyard looked at his companions who nodded their head, before bringing his gaze back to us. He sighed as if he doesn't have any choice.

“Maximum of two years,” Dreyard answered.

“That's too long.” Sabat ko sa kanilang usapan at mabilis na umabante.

Because if I were to ask, I would go back to the military right now and save those people without second thoughts.

“But I understand. It's a gamble, we don't know if we'll win or lose in this game of tag.”

This isn't something that we can perform easily just because we need to do this. This requires an absolute plan. A plan that would benefit us, at the same time, the one which we could perform with 100% success, even it's impossible.

One thing for sure, we must do everything, calculate every outcome by creating hypotheses that might help and contribute to our success.

We need a much larger group if we're against the military which is surrounded by thousands of personnel who wouldn't think twice about shooting even living people who oppose their plan.

We need to find a group of skilled people who are willing to trust us to execute this plan.

The plan of stopping the military for their success of creating the bioweapon that will certainly destroy the world, than how it is going on right now.

“That's why we must save the next ones that they will assign to clean their mess. As of now, let's focus on yourselves first, our saviors.”

We were still shocked by the pieces of information we heard from Dreyard, but I couldn't help but think of it, at how everything's too connected that I just couldn't help but believe in his words.

“Come, let me show you your weapons, soldiers,” aya nya sa amin sa gitna ng katahimikan, bago sya tumalikod at iginaya kami kung saan.

I couldn't process everything. The information in my head is too much to handle that I don't know on which I should focus first.

Is it the fact that those disgusting people used our name to hide their evil plans? Or is it because they are heartless enough to kill innocent people for the sake of the power they badly wanted?

“Let's go,” Zeon said to me, which made me look at him as he looks composed as if he got over with it already.

Sana all mabilis makarecover.

But I know that he's only hiding his emotions, based on the actions and the expressions he showed earlier, those are too much to be over in just a day.

And he seemed to be the type who breakdown until he's fine. He's the type who usually keeps it within himself and silently gets over it.

I nodded my head and pushed myself to walk towards where Dreyard headed. With every step, I couldn't help but think of the revelations that were exposed, the reason why my body's trembling in both fear and anger I don't want to believe them, but nothing will happen if we continue to turn a blind eye over the truth that is right in front of our eyes.

I sighed heavily and mentally shook my head.

Now isn't the time for that, Harper. You need to focus on. You don't even know if you could fully trust these people.

Not because Zeon knows one of these men doesn't mean you must trust them too.

Remember, the last time you trust people, you ended up suffering the aftermath of that psychological emotion.

We carefully walked below the stairs going to the depth of this place slowly, until the kinds of weapons being held by metals welcomed my eyes.

Whenever my eyes stop by, all I could see are different kinds of weapons, from distinct sizes of which from the smallest of pistols with flashlight already connected to its body, I think. And for sure, these are new kinds that people in the military are oblivious about.

They looked so advanced and fantastic as if those weapons are being charged without a wire connected to their body for they are emitting deep blue colors that are lightening up the whole basement. Guns made from silver and are shining through this dull, all-white basement for their lights are giving life to this place.

They are being caged by some transparent walls which I don't know if it's a prototype or a simple glass wall only. Nevertheless, I couldn't believe that I'm gazing at such advanced guns, for I am such a technology freak and these guns seemed to be much powerful than normal ones.

These guns are majestically made to be beautiful that I felt like I'm in love.

“Throw your weapons, since you don't need them anymore. Because with these guns, all you need to do is to charge it through the solar panels placed to suck energies from the sun.”

I turned to face Dreyard, and couldn't help but be shocked when he placed his hand on the glass wall and suddenly, the wall glowed in light blue that reminds me of microchip codes through its glass, and slowly, those codes merged in the middle before a line was created. That's when the glass wall opened, emitting some smokes from inside that when it touches our body, was cold and comforting.

Dreyard entered as he reached for a gun— which the light connected from it suddenly disappeared as if a robot losing its charge before he pointed at the top part of which there's a small dark-colored square that seemed to be connected to the gun itself!

“These are the solar panels—” He wasn't even finished speaking when Faye suddenly butt in.

“That small? Then, the charging—” Dreyard quickly cut her words.

“A single solar panel in this gun contains 50 Watts enough for your weapons to be charged through the whole daytime even when you're using it,” Dreyard explained and smiled at her, which at my peripheral vision, Faye pouted her lips in embarrassment.

I chuckled at her and slowly nudged her, for which she looks at me and glared as if I'm teasing her. When I am? Hehe.

“Each weapon contains 20,000 mAh battery life, thus, enough for you to use it continuously for three days. Well, it all depends on the gun you're about to carry. The bigger the gun, the fastest it will consume the battery, and of course, the longer you need to charge it.”

I tilted my head for the answer that's running on my head. “Can you explain why? Like how do they fire? Like a normal gun or what?” What I asked made them look at me.

Don't get me wrong. These guns look so advanced, although we don't know how they're functioning. It's always better to ask what you're oblivious about than to get with the flow and suffer afterward.

Amusement could be seen on Dreyard's face as the side of his lips lifted for a smirk before he followed my request.

“These guns shoot energy blasts in bullet form, which are high-frequency electromagnetic waves combined into the shape of bullet that could kill a living person's brain with three shots. Although what we're fighting for are undead creatures and the nerves of their brain don't function at all, once is enough.” I nodded my head.

Energy guns aren't impossible though, since they even created artificial wombs for birthing children and many more. I wasn't informed that electromagnetic waves can be shaped into bullet-like. . . well, technology is fascinating, at the same time, terrifying.

“Through these advanced guns, those energies you'll collect from sunlight would materialize into bullets, which is much dangerous when coming contract with your skin. That's why I advise you not to touch nor fire it accidentally into people if you don't want them to immobilize forever, since these guns should be used for zombies only, and high-hazardous ones.”

I see. . . EM waves are already dangerous before since they could disturb a person's brain when exposed to them, making them crazy enough to become boomers. Studying high-frequency electromagnetic waves became forbidden because of it.

And knowing that someone succeeds. . . Fascinating.

Just who the heck are this Dreyard and his teams?

“They're just like the normal guns, only that, these have unlimited bullets until the battery's drained and is much dangerous than the actual gun you're holding.”

“Sugoi~” Faye whispered in amazement.

“Cool!” Male voices from our companions dominated the place, for they are in glee knowing that we don't have to find more bullets to keep going.

We don't need to save ammunition to ensure our safety since this one, as long as the sun is shining, we don't need to worry about it.

“I see, you succeed,” Zeon, who's beside me whispered so low as if it's just a whisper for himself only, yet it didn't escape my hearing for which I turned to face him.

He lazily smirked at me and slowly placed his finger on his lips, signaling me to keep quiet about what I've heard.

Ngumuso ako at nag-iwas ng tingin, kasabay noon ay ang pagsiko ni Faye na sinamaan ko ng tingin.

“You can still carry some bullets since there's a separated space for those, in case that you will forget to charge it and there's no sun in the sky. With that, you have to fight like how you usually fight. Bullet to the skull, and reload when there's none.”

Alright. I nodded my head from the information I just received. After all, something like that won't be helped.

We must always be ready for something like this, right?

“What kind of bullets they hold from energy blasts?” Phoenix asked which made me look at him. Right. I forgot to ask it. After all, bullets have one of the most crucial roles in terms of weapons.

“They differ, of course, but they can be compared to normal ones. This one is just like the typical 2mm caliber, the smallest since those bullets are the only ones which could be created by these guns, after all, the smallest it is, the more it could create.” Nice!

“And those energy blasts enough to kill zombies?” My eyes shifted to Faye who's now looking so serious. The one who always looks for a hole so that once answered, everything would be perfect.

Nothing's wrong with asking questions about things you are curious about.

“As I've said, these are high-hazardous guns and have high-frequency electromagnetic waves. The bullets that would materialize from energies have velocities ranging between 5000-10000 m/s, depending on the gun. And the velocity and the radiation are enough to penetrate your skulls and make you lose your mind in just a single bullet.”

“That was fucking scary,” Faye replied that I chuckled and silently whispered.

“Guns are terrifyingly beautiful, but these are killers.” Which is true.

“How did you formulate this masterpiece?” I couldn't help but ask, since these levels of guns are above normal, and only those who can create it can be categorized as geniuses.

“It wasn't my idea alone. It was our dream to create, and someone made it possible for us,” Dreyard answered which made me look at him and saw him walking towards our place until he stopped beside Zeon and faced me, just as when I saw him playfully punched Zeon's chest.

“The formula, the exact calculations. . . everything won't be possible without this genius beside me.”

My brow lifted from the information I just received. Wow.

I suddenly remembered how he used the gunpowders to lead us in this place.

These people are geniuses that I felt out of place.

“Tch. Kamay mo,” reklamo ni Zeon.

Tatawa-tawang inalis ni Dreyard ang kamay nya sa balikat ni Zeon.

“No offense but. . . are you the golden five?” Faye suddenly asked, which I looked at her in curiosity.

Golden five? What a name!

“What?” Dreyard asked, completely clueless.

It was Zeon who answered.

“You were called Golden Five from the contribution you've made within the military, which when it was announced at how you died on a mission, the people, especially the children who look up on you were in great grief back then,” Zeon explains coolly that made me look at him with smirk.

Haba no'n, ah?

“But we're alive, surprise motherfuckers?” Dreyard joked with an action as if shrugging, with a proud and arrogant expression on his face.

“Where are your other companions?” I asked that made the smirk on his face disappeared and was replaced by a serious expression.

Gotcha! I know it.

“As I've said, we are the only sole survivors on our team. It was too late when we learned about it, which was the day before our mission. . . or let me say execution. Our other companions saved us,” he explained while looking somewhere as if he's reminiscing something painful before he hides it by laughed bitterly.

He must be grieving even after those months.

Moving on takes time to be accepted fully.

“It was kind of cruel because they chose to save us, that now, they're already in heaven. I hope they're now at peace, away from sorrow and suffering that this world has brought to them and their families.” He looked at us and smiled a little. “I know you are tired. Please rest for a while.” And he turned his back on us.

We all fell in silence after hearing what he just said.

And I instantly regretted asking about it.

But we don't have any choice.

We need to know them first if we want to trust them.

I'm a bit proud of this chapter teehee~
