Weeks later...
"You're that bitch that's been wiping us out, aren't you?"
A mysterious voice questioned, followed by others who seemed partners with each others. They were standing above buildings, looking down and surrounding this one person. There were a total of three of them, and all did their best to hide their identities
"Don't expect to walk out of here alive"
You couldn't see anything distinctive about her, except for the lavender ponytail hanging on the back of her cap, and her emerald eyes. Her stare looked unharmful and kind, yet were able to send chills down their spine
She was surrounded by every direction, but the ones that were nervous was the those four
"You're EMBER, correct?" The lone woman asked. Her tone almost sounded like it was the last threat she was going to say. But they didn't answer. Instead, they made their first move
One of them raised their hand, aiming it at her. Nothing came out of it, but somehow she felt a little slower. Did she decelerate me? No, more like...
Suddenly, many spears surrounded her body from above, and fell at full speed, just near enough that it almost scratched all over her. But it was enough to restrict her movement. It acted sort of like a cage. That kind of startled me. Is this some sort of formation they have?
The last one lunged from above, activating her powers on the way down. His hands turned into malicious claws. He cut her neck cleanly, too fast that no stains of blood dirtied his hands — or at least thats what should've happened
The man turned his head, yet the woman was seemed she was still untouched "W-what...!?"
"Hm? Surely you didn't miss?" Leilah asked, trying to provoke him without doing anything except standing. Even under the mask, they just know that Leilah was smiling "Cmon, try again!"
"Y-you bitch!" And he did just that. He took his time, and aimed his claws straight to one of her eye. Nothing happened "H-how in the..." He could literally see his hand go through her eye, yet she can still talk normally
"You're not drunk, are you?"
"Shut up!" The man turned his sight to his partners and called them. "Katya, what are you doing!? Kill her!"
Katya unleashed countless spears above Leilah, and directed them all towards her with full strike. The sound of it alone was enough to echo through the city. The spears were so strong that it was able to pierce halfway to the ground
After Katya wasn't able to see the woman, she stopped. "Did... did I get her?" She asked herself. Unsure of it, Silence struck, and they just stood still — expecting some sort of movements from Leilah, but nothing happened "Maybe that was overkill—"
....!
Their eyes snapped wide open. Leilah appeared, through all of those spears like she's a hologram
"W-what should we do...?"
"Let's just retreat for now!"
The three members of EMBER leaped backwards, attempting to escape. But Leilah had her fun, so she froze them mid-air. As Leilah steps closer towards them — even though they're frozen — they were still able to see and think. She knows that fear grows more and more as she goes closer
"Sorry, but I'm taking your powers away"
The next day...
"Superheroes called 'Joker and Queen' are rising around the country as they gain many supports as days go by"
The news were appearing on the television installed everywhere inside the mall, with the header called 'Rise of Superheroes'
It has been weeks since John and Seraphina continued their night life going around town as superheroes, and with this, they felt like they finally made an official debut
"Heh..." John chuckled "We're actually on television"
"Not so loud, you idiot" Sera sushed him, and immediately slurped her drink
Joker and Queen didn't anticipate them getting any supports, yet many footage was shown of graffitis being drawn on walls, vandalizing the cities
"How come we're getting supports?" John asked, "Why didn't the previous ones got any"
"Maybe they felt assured this time" Sera replied
"You mean because we're strong?"
"Yeah. There haven't been many superheroes anywhere close to our levels"
...
"Furthermore..." The news continued, "There have been new encountering of another partnered up superheroes"
John and Sera instinctively switched their sight back to the television
"There is no evidence pointing towards their names, but a short footage of them will be played"
The two people in the video didn't catch their attention at first. Until they zoomed in on them. It was clear as day, for someone that spends a well amount of time with them, it was no doubt that it was Remi and Blyke
"That's..." Sera hesitated, and glanced at John
"That stubborn little..." John gritted his teeth, angry at them. I thought I already told her to stay put! "I'm heading over to Pinky"
John immediately picked up the pace, "Wait, hold on!" Sera followed behind him
Later...
"Remi!" A certain someone shouted, calling her from behind
Remi turned her head, "Arlo..." She began with a blank expression. An awkward silence struck them for some seconds
"What is wrong with you!?" Arlo asked. But after looking around them, he realized that there were students around, so he decided to tone down a bit, "Care to explain what you're doing on television?"
"There's... something wrong with me?" Remi asked, with a darkened expression, "There's nothing wrong with me!" Remi faced her back to him and tried to walk away
"Stop..." Arlo demanded, but she didn't listen, "I said stop!" He activated his barrier around her

Remi turned her head, her eyes glowing ruby red. Is... is she going to fight me or something? Arlo thought, and suddenly, a thunderbolt struck her — strong enough to pierce the barrier
"Gah!" Arlo immediately clenched his heart over the chest. That was... just like Rei's
Next thing he knew, Remi was already face to face with him. All the students couldn't help but to feel scared by the thunderbolt Remi created that echoed the entire school
"What's gotten into you lately?"
"Arlo..." Remi began, "All this time, you've always kept things quiet from me, just like my brother. So why should I open up to you?"
A thunderbolt struck her again, and she's gone. It was almost as if the lightning warped her

Remi sighed and leaned her back to the wall. She wasn't actually that far off to where she left off
