Arc 4 Chapter 14: Undying Love

As S and Jun walked down the streets, S silently walked forward having a particular goal in mind.

The Villain knew it was almost time for the finale of there visit, the reason why she had insisted coming to this city in the first place.

Like this she continued to walk forward, and as she walked she passed by many delicious smelling food stalls.

Slowly but surely her footsteps began to grow slower and slower...

'Hmmm, now that I think about it... I have yet to try this worlds cuisine.'

Truthfully the Villain had yet to taste this world's food. For over two and a half years she had been atop a mountain and missing out on many things, one being food. Although her cultivation level was high enough that she no longer needed to eat, she still wanted to taste test this world's food before leaving. (As mentioned before, her body is essentially that of an immortal so she doesn't need to eat)

The Villain looked back at Jun, she hadn't eaten his cooking either... For the past two and a half years his cultivation had been low enough that he still needed nutrients. However when he needed to eat something he simply picked raw fruit or vegetables that grew atop the summit, he consumed food for nutrients nothing more, so he hadn't cooked like she expected.

Still even if he did cook the Villain wouldn't have eaten, this world was different, she would no longer rely on Jun and in turn maybe she would no longer feel the guilt that slightly lingered in her soul from the last world.

The Villain sighed as she looked at all the food stalls, she refused to go without trying this world's food! With that mentality she looked back at Jun.

"Hey Mutt, I shouldn't show my face too much around here, so go to the noodle stall and purchase a bowl of noodles for me." With that she tossed Jun a few coins.

Jun was confused as he looked down at the silver coins in his hand. "Noodles? Are you going to eat noodles?"

"Yes, who else?"

"But you don't need to eat..."

"Don't question my instructions. I am capable of eating if I want to, now go."

With that S sat on a rock nearby retreating to her thoughts leaving Jun to carry out the task.

Jun sighed as he looked down at the silver coins placed in his hands, he knew not to disagree with the woman so he slowly walked over to the noodle bowl stand.

Walking to the food stall three other customers were waiting in line while someone just got their own noodle bowl, Jun glanced at the steaming bowl of noodles as he suddenly thought about the action he was about to do.

"I'm going to get a bowl of noodles... for Sensei to eat."

"Sensei is going to eat a foreign bowl of noodles made by some stranger..."

"....foreign noodles..."

Suddenly Jun started to frown, no longer liked the thought of doing such a task.

"She doesn't even need to eat, why does she want a bowl of noodles..." Jun began to grow slightly bitter.

He couldn't understand why, but as he thought about doing such a task he felt a lump in his throat while his hands grew numb over even picturing it.

The line grew shorter as someone else got their bowl. Meanwhile Jun was growing more and more agitated having a silent crisis.... over noodles....

He began to feel a cold sweat as his heart anxiously beat.

Although Jun knew it was ridiculous, he felt more agitated over getting a single bowl of noodles then he had ever felt in his entire life.

He had overcome many hardships, he had progressed to a high level of cultivation and yet, a single bowl of noodles seemed to be his downfall...

A single bowl of noodles would win against Jun...

No! Jun viciously clenched his fists as he stopped his trembling hands, he wasn't about to lose against something so pathetic!

If he couldn't do this much, how could he ever hope to become an accomplished cultivator, how could he ever hope to become acknowledged?

Finally it was Jun's turn to order as he neared the counter.

The stall owner cheerfully waved away the previous customer as he looked towards the approaching one.

"What would you like to order-" Suddenly after eyeing the next customer, the stall owners heart stopped and he grew stiff, he felt death approaching!

Who could blame him?

For as he looked at the young new customer, the customer's face remained deep and scary while his hands were balled up into tight fists. Even as the customer began to speak, his voice was low and threatening!

"Noodles." The scary customers dropped down the silver coins with a certain feeling of distain in the air.

The stall owner didn't dare take the money, instead he unconsciously stepped away, however as he saw the young man's scary face again he didn't dare try to escape!

'Noddles... Noddles! I have to make noodles!' The stall owner thought about the young customers words as he nervously got into action and began to prepare the dish.

It didn't take long for the bowl of noodles to be ready, after all the stall owner had made them as fast as possible, otherwise he feared any slower and he would be asking for death!

The scary customer looked down at the bowl of noodles, his face turned particularly scary and threatening, just as the shop owner feared he had made a dreadful mistake, the young man took it the bowl and turned away.

'H-he didn't kill me...!' The stall owner clenched his chest and breathed out a huge sigh of relief as he saw the man's fleeting back.

Like this he decided to close up shop for the day, he felt like it would truly be ominous to stay open any longer!

............

Jun looked down at the noodle bowl in his hands, somehow he had managed to purchase a bowl, but now as he looked down at it his heart beat harder and harder.

He didn't want to bring it any closer to the woman, the very idea disturbed him.

Each step closer to S, he grew slower and slower.

Suddenly S looked up at the approaching young man, her dark eyes gazing straight into his.

Ba-dum

*Clink

Jun tripped as the bowl of noodles fell to the ground, the ceramic bowl shattering everywhere.

The noodles could no longer be eaten as they splashed out onto the street.

Looking down at the scene, S's dark eyes flashed with a hint of deep devastation- *Ehem, remained cool and indifferent.

Jun gazed up sheepishly from the ground. "I'm sorry Sensei. Now you can't eat."

The Villain was surprised, she had never seen Jun trip before, and to think she would be unfortunate enough to have him trip while carrying her food...

Why did she feel as though it were slightly, unnatural...

Still the Villain was cold and indifferent, it's not like she would be affected by a single bowl of noodles, it's not like she inwardly felt an immense amount of pain from even glancing at the now inedible food scattered across the street...

S looked with her regular cold eyes towards her disciple. "Ha if you can't even do such a simple task mutt, then I guess I'll have to do it myself."

Jun immediately grew stiff upon hearing his Sensei's words.

Just as S stood up and planned to walk back towards the stall, Jun desperately reached out. "You can't-"

"Hmmm?"

"You-you can't... They are all out of noodles now." Jun sheepishly spoke.

The Villain grew suspicious over hearing such a thing. "Really?"

Jun remained quiet as he simply shook his head.

Due to it being quite early in the day, the Villain was suspicious over hearing such a thing, after all stalls usually contained enough food to last until evening. However as she turned to look at the noodle stall it simply read "closed for the day."

"Tch." The Villain didn't like seeing such a sign.

She wanted to eat!

However she knew she didn't have much time anymore to go buying food, like this the Villain sighed as she decided to leave for now.

"Let's go mutt."

Like this S continued to walk further on into the city as Jun quietly followed behind.

Desert Note: Poor Jun, getting PTSD from the last arc... This is kind of like an extra chapter, but it does have some significance to Jun's character later on XD. Also just thought I should reiterate, although the Villain is a big foodie, she isn't as eager to eat this arc since she still feels slight guilt from the last arc with Jun. She won't eat when she feels agitated or distress.

A certain man: "Tch, I really hate noodles!"

*Later on

The Villain: "Can you make me some noodles?"

A certain man: "...." Mentally struggling.
