【*Ding, System Error: Unable to locate. Unable to locate.】
Just as the Villain had rushed out to find Jun, she was suddenly issued a message by the system.
The system was pulling up an error warning, she had never heard such a thing from it before as she began to lightly frown.
"I'm wasting time." After all whenever the Villain found Jun he was always in critical condition. If she was going to find him then she needed to find him ASAP.
"If I can't rely on the system, then how will I find him? Maybe if I can travel faster I will have a better chance."
The Villain wracked her brain as she tried to think of some techniques she could use in this world. Looking over the body's memories she suddenly found one technique that would be useful for transporting quickly.
It was a strange technique that seemed to only exist in cultivation worlds.
It was the technique of making one's sword float.
The Villain swiftly unsheathed her blade that had been fastened to her waist. Although it was a rather ordinary sword, with an immortal technique she knew she could make it fly.
Slowly she concentrated her Qi into the blade in one long stream. Then slowly she began to move her hand away while still concentrating her Qi, like this the sword began to successfully float on it's own.
It floated in the air, S put her hand on it to ensure it would stay and she quickly verified it could easily hold her weight. Yes, she could now use a floating sword.
However even with a means for transportation she still had no idea where she needed to go... the world was a vast place full of many people, it would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack field...
The only clues the Villain had was that Jun always seemed connected to the ML somehow in each world, however even then the Villain didn't think such a clue would be very useful.
Yes, she didn't have much time, not much time at all. Jun was always in dangerous situations close to death, if she wasn't quick enough he could already de-
"Hmmm?"
Suddenly she felt it. There was another life nearby, it was terribly weak but she could feel it.
"Is it perhaps the ML, Liu Wei? Has he already come back? If that's the case I shouldn't stick around for long and gain unwarranted trouble." Just as S hopped on her sword she felt the weak presence again.
"No... It can't be Liu Wei, it's far too weak..." Even at her high level she could barely feel it, it was as if it could vanish at any second, she felt certain that it couldn't belong to the ML of this world.
Although she knew she needed to hurry, as though hypnotized she hopped down from her sword compelled to find the weakened presence. It was almost as if the presence held a slight spark of familiarity, she felt her legs move towards the direction she sensed.
S began walking away from the large wooden building of the Qiangda sect as she made her way towards the surrounding trees in the forest. Walking through the cedar trees, it was not long before she spotted a small shed-like structure in the distance, supposedly used for gathering firewood in the winter.
It was small and terribly shabby, it was hard to believe that the presence could be coming from such a small cramped space, still she continued on.
As she stepped lightly on the rustling leaves and drew closer, she could still just barely feel the other's presence. She couldn't sense them by their Qi at all, it was only by the slight scent of blood and small pulse of life that she was able to perceive they were even there. If she wasn't as strong as she was she was, she would have never noticed the fading presence.
Finally she made her way to the door of the little wooden shack, with a slight push the weak rotting door opened with little resistance.
As soon as she saw the sight inside, her eyes grew dark.
In front of her lay the body of a young man with all sorts of cuts and bruises dressed in scraggly clothes. His body was littered with scars that looked old and new, it was clear he had suffered abuse for a long time. He was on his knees as his hands were both bound to pillars of the little shed, his body looked terribly wretched and weak as his head simply drooped down, presumably unconscious.
Before the Villain could process the situation the monotone system spoke out.
【Contract Individual Detected.】
"J-jun..." As the Villain looked down at the miserable weak body she understood.
Suddenly the atmosphere turned frigid! If anyone was in distance they would find it increasingly hard to breath due to all the dark Qi circulating the area!
For as the Villain looked down she felt a truly rare emotion bubble up, she felt rage towards whoever had done such a thing!
"Ah what was I just..." The Villain suddenly caught herself as she stumbled back.
She was surprised by her actions, long ago she had already decided not to involve her emotions, yet she had subconsciously done just that.
Yes, in the span of a moment the resolve she had worked so hard for had completely wavered!
Although the Villain hadn't wanted to admit it, it seemed the man was slightly able to creep into her cold heart after three worlds together.
"I've been affected by him even deeper than I realized... how pathetic. How pathetic!" The Villain clenched her fists.
"No... this time, this time things will be different." The Villain lightly breathed as she calmed her mind, pushing any distracting thoughts to the back of her head as her eyes once more grew cold and indifferent.
She wouldn't allow herself to be swayed by the man and deeper.
Like this she once again walked closer to the badly injured youth, he had cuts and bruises all across his body, his heartbeat was dangerously slow and his meridians were long since ruined. He would die in minutes if the Villain didn't intervene.
Unhesitantly she looked up to the system.
"I want to purchase a "life elixir."
Yes Host. Initializing point transfer. Item 【Life Elixir】succesfully acquired.
Out of thin air the item materialized into S's hand.
The Villain had used points in every world to save Jun. 【Life Elixirs】were a top tier item, to be able to bring someone back from the brink of death no matter the wound was truly world defying, so it cost a huge chunk of points every time. Now that the Villains points had dwindled down, she only had a few left. She could only buy one or two more cheap items max.
Still it didn't matter to her as she was indifferent to such things, after all after this world she would no longer cease to exist. Long ago she had already poured the majority of her points into the death orb, so these were just excessive points she didn't mind using up.
After acquiring the item, S started pouring the elixir into her mouth before tilting the youths head up and slowly forcing the medicine down his throat.
The Villain wasn't sure if it worked, but after a few minutes his breathing stabilized.
"Good." She calmly sighed.
She planned to check his heartbeat but as she moved her hand towards his chest it was suddenly tightly grabbed!
Ferocious dark eyes stared up at the Villain, they were truly jet black as they lacked light of any kind and only sought for the embrace of death.
"Ah what happened to Jun?" The Villain was truly shocked as she looked deep into his dark eyes, she could barely recognize them now.
What was more, the Villain could tell Jun's soul was weak and deeply pained, weaker than she had ever seen it.
It was then that she suddenly realized something.
Every world Jun's eyes grew more and more black, and every world his soul felt, weaker... now that his eyes had blackened so much his soul seemed so fragile... like it was on the verge of... disappearing?
The Villain didn't know such a thing was possible!?
After all if she had known of an easier way to truly die by destroying her soul, she wouldn't have tirelessly collected points for her death orb! But now, now as she looked deep into his black eyes she was sure of it, she could feel it, Jun's soul was on the verge of self destruction!
He was dying.
Desert: Haha sorry dear readers Huizhen is not Jun, he is simply the 2ML in this st-*COUGH arc. It may seem like other characters get more interesting interactions with the Villain when concerning there backstories for arcs, but I assure you Jun's time will come! He's just not a main character in the arcs, y̶e̶t̶.
Also it's finally revealed, that's one of the things I've been hinting to all this time! The Villain wasn't the only one with a death flag (ಥ⌣ಥ) The darker Jun's eyes become the more they lack energy. It's said that eyes are the window to the soul, so the more Jun's eyes blacken and lack light the weaker his soul is becoming. To clarify, he's not going to die right now, but if he were to die, then his soul would completely crumble. Why hasn't this been happening to the Villain? That's just a little detail you don't need to know right now ;)
