"I'll see you again, okay?"-- Ikari Hebinoya

*warning: violence, slight swearing

POV— Hebinoya Ikari

Father's Mercy

Don't let me go.

I met the devil when I was seven.

He called me his little demon.

He told me I could be just like him.

So I accepted, because I thought I could be nothing else.

Little did I know that I was never meant to become the devil.

Don't let me go.

Fear grips me again, hundreds of times deeper than the wave I felt before. This time, I am suffocated by the ocean as Shojiro drags me underwater. I desperately gasp for air, but the pressure in my chest only doubles as I try to free Todoroki from Shojiro, the thought of Todoroki's death fueling me with energy.

As seconds pass, Todoroki tries to say something, but all that comes out is a gurgling choke as his lips try to grab for air. Another adrenaline spike runs through me, power rising through my body. For a moment, I imagine a world without Todoroki, without his eyes— his beautiful eyes—

With new burst of energy, I leap up high into the air, my arms glowing yellow with new power.

"Let... him... go!" I scream. I slam down towards him, my speed making Shojiro's eyes widen with surprise. He jumps out of the way and stumbles on nearby rubble. I use it as encouragement. I slash again and again, continuing to hack away at his arms, my arms aching with overuse.

Before I can get another good slash in, I am flung back by a gust of cold wind, the sudden change in temperature making my skin crawl. I land with a painful grunt, but I scramble up as soon as I fall.

A few feet away from me, Todoroki drops to the ground, gasping for air. He massages his neck, coughing. When I look behind him, Shojiro is encased in ice, but a cracking sound tells me he is already beginning to get out. I help Todoroki up.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah."

A wave of wind crashes into us, slamming wind into my face. I hold Todoroki for support as it settles down to a slight breeze. I blink my eyes with surprise and look for the power source, near the water.

No one else can create that power besides Midoriya. He needs help.

I dust off some ice shards on Todoroki's shoulders.

"You must get to Aizawa. Get help. You know their plan. Go."

"What about you?"

"I'll hold Shojiro off. I'll be fine."

I don't know if this will be true, but I cannot think of things like that right now. There is still uncertainty in his eyes but I hold his hand tight as I repeat,

"Go, Sho-yo. I'll be fine. I'll see you again, okay?"

I'll see you again...

Right?

Don't let me go.

Shojiro's Quirk: AirDisk

Similar to Ikari's Quirk, Shojiro's Quirk is associated with air. He can create frisbee-like swirls of air that can be flung around like a boomerang. They can bounce off solid walls and other objects. The edges are sharp and can cut through anything if the user is strong. Depending on ability, the user can fling up to twenty disks at a time. Each air disk will disappear at a maximum of thirty seconds.

I cannot keep this up much longer.

Sweat drips down my face as Shojiro flings another disk at me, the air swirling and spinning on his hand. I shift to the side just as it whizzes past me, my heart jumping. Another ricochets off a piece of rubble, aimed straight for my head, and I dodge that as soon as I see it. Another three disks fly around me, dividing my concentration. Parts of my body are cut and bruised, and every time I step on my cut leg, I wince in pain. Even my forehead is gushing out blood, blinding my sight.

I curse as another disk whips toward me, shallowly slicing my side. I jump back, gritting my teeth, fire running up my stomach.

I cannot lose to him.

He rushes at me again, this faster than before, eyes glinting maliciously.

His eyes are not like Shojiro's. They are of a murderer's.

It sends chills through my back-- it's Shojiro, but he's... off.

I dodge, disks whistling past me faster than before. The blood from my forehead trickles down my cheeks, down my neck. I shift back, the disks bouncing towards me at alarming speed.

Before I can even react, my whole body ignites with pain. I scream as I slam to the ground, my back landing with a slight crack.

The dome above me swirls around like a kaleidoscope. I dig my nails deep into the dirt.

Get up. Get up. Get up.

I grit my teeth, my arms shaking with useless effort. My body refuses to work. After another failed attempt, I collapse to the ground. From my left, light footsteps approach me. I find Shojiro's dead, silver eyes shining with strange excitement. The disks he had summoned has disappeared. Something like knuckles cracking reaches my ears.

"Wait, no—"

A line of white fire runs through my stomach. My breakfast churns in my stomach and I desperately try to hold in the vomit, but to no avail. I sputter out my food, but Shojiro does not stop and kicks me in the chest, then the legs, again and again.

Blood pools in my mouth as I spit it out furiously, trying to get up as he lands his jabs. Each time I try to stand, he just lands another harder punch.

Shojiro's going to kill me.

I thought I'd never think of this, but here I am— being beaten up by my own brother. Betrayal simmers. I can barely even see his silhouette. My vision is stained with red as I try to carry myself.

After the fifth blow, I lay broken on the debris, my eyes blinded by blood. My mouth burns from acid. I lay motionless, my stomach threatening to throw up the little food I still had left in it.

As soon as I turn limp, the pain lessens. The pounding has stopped. I can breathe a little more. With the last of my strength, I raise my head.

"Hebinoya Ikari." My father's silvery voice floats through the air. He appears in front of me, pushing Shojiro aside. He wipes the blood away from my face, smoke from his cigarette stinging my eyes. I gasp for air, fear filling me. His touch is  electrifying. I try to scramble away from his gaze.

"You are a disgrace to your family. You should be slaughtered for your actions, but I am merciful. I will give you a chance to live."

I don't have the energy to reply.

It's the end. They're here to end me.

Move, move, move—

"Shojiro, won't you send your sister off with a proper goodbye? Let's see how far she'll fly."

Panic rises up, and I find the strength to stand. I try to move as fast as I can in my crippled state. I stand strangely, my cut leg making me limp. Through my damaged vision, the only thing I can see is Shojiro in front of me.

"Shojiro, please—" I plead, but he has already heeded my father's orders and smiles cruelly at me. He tosses a small, metal ball at my feet. I try to limp back, but before I can even realize that it is another bomb, a wave of fire rushes towards me, and a burning sensation followed engulfs me.

Don't let me go.

I cannot hear or feel.

I can only see.

I can only watch as my battered body flies through the air. I feel like a bird.

Time has slowed. Seconds turn to minutes, and for a moment I forget about my existence and I only savor the flying sensation cushioning my body. From somewhere in the stadium, Nessun Dorma plays in the background. The chorus echoes in my head, repeating in my head again and again. I travel through the air, higher through the sky until I can almost reach the tip of the dome. The view below me is amazing.

I should've gotten my camera.

The large, bird-like animal is in the center. That must be the Nomu the villain was talking about. I can make out Asui's green hair and Mineta's small form as both of them carry a broken Aizawa back to the steps. A large, hulking man stands near the Nomu, his blonde hair glinting with dirt. All Might is here. I must not have noticed when he arrived. I was too busy fighting Shojiro.

Oh, well.

It won't matter.

I'm dying, right?

The floating feeling in my stomach disappears, replaced with a sinking wrench that pulls at my guts. The view below me becomes clearer. In the center of USJ, remnants of Todoroki's ice shimmers on the grounds. Kirishima and Midoriya are there as well, a few feet away from the hands man, the purple mass, and Nomu. They must have stepped into the fight with All Might.

The speed that I am falling at increases as I near the ground, giving me a clear target of where I am falling to. I can hear Bakugou's yells as he pins the purple warp gate to the ground. As I watch this, the Nomu approaches him, most likely to free the purple gate.

And I'm heading right towards them.

Fear courses through my body, snapping me out of my strange calmness. The wind whistles in my ears as I try to make my body move to my will, but the intense pain it's been through makes it impossible. Wind buffets my hair, the black strands floating in front of my vision, and my eyes waters from the wind. I am slipping in and out of consciousness, and the last threads of will that had been strung up in me begins to snap. I can almost envision the headlines flashing before me:

Ikari Hebinoya Dead, Public Rejoices

Slowly, I let myself fall to my death.

Don't let me go.

"Ikari?"

My eyes flutter open. Soft grass cushions my body. The smell of mulch and earthy pine cones fill my nose, and the laughter of children spot in and out of my ears. I must be at the park, where Shojiro and I played when we were young.

Am I in a dream?

I look up to find Shojiro standing in front of me.

"Are you okay?" He says.

My eyes widen with surprise and my body reacts immediately. I scramble back, digging my feet into the mud. "Don't touch me--" I spit, visions of Shojiro smiling down at me with an evil smirk flickers in and out of my mind, "--get away from me!"

Shojiro only cocks his head. "What's wrong, Ikari? Are you okay? That fall must've hit you harder than I thought. Come on, let me get you up."

My chest rises up and down as I look up at Shojiro. I debate if I should trust him or not, but Shojiro lifts me off my backside before I can say anything. When I stand, my body doesn't ache anymore. I stare at him, my mind whirring with confusion. His eyes are soft and gentle, just like how I remember them. Before I even know what I'm doing , I jump into his arms, shouting his name with glee.

"Ikari, are you alright?"

"There's so many things I want to tell you— I—" I cannot even get any words out. I only manage stumble through a sentence. "I'll become a hero for you, Shojiro. Just you wait." I look up at his face, and his slightly confused one stares back down at mine.

I bury my head into his chest as I savor the lemony smell in his shirt. My emotions fall to a serene still. I want this moment to last forever.

That is, until I hear a chilling laugh.

"You're too gullible."

When I look up, Shojiro's eyes have been replaced with cold, grey ones. He smiles, just like the one he had on when he blasted me out of the sky.

My instincts force myself to struggle out of his constricting hug. I shove him back, fear climbing up my throat for the umpteenth time. How stupid can I get? I should have never trusted him. I scold and ridicule myself, telling myself again and again that I'm too foolish. I feel a lump in my throat forming, but I try to force it down as the fresh feeling of betrayal rips through me for the second time. I try to activate my Quirk and slash at him, but it seems to have no effect as Shojiro continues to laugh.

Shojiro isn't evil.

He's not. He's not.

In front of me, Shojiro's face slowly shifts into Father's, their laughs echoing in sync with each other.

"You're weak, Ikari. Remember that," they whisper, again and again in my head. The more I try to fight their voices, the harder it is to stop it from crawling into my mind.

"I'm not... weak," I say, the last word uncertain on my tongue. Father just laughs more.

"You were never made to become anything great, Ikari. It's best if you just let yourself fall to your death and end your misery early."

Even if it is true, I fight the voices with all my might.

"Godammit, I'm not weak! I'll prove it to you! I won't die, Father! You have my word!" Anger shoots up in my stomach.

The voices only laugh at me even more, ridiculing me. The voices clamor over each other to get an insult in, but my head has turned hot with rage and I can slowly feel the whistling of wind in my ears again.

Don't let me go.

Hey guys! Did you guys like this kind of dream like state? What do you think will happen to Ikari? Hope you guys enjoyed this segment. Make sure to drink some water and stay healthy!

Today I decided to change it up. Whenever I run out of fun facts, I'll put a few pictures of Ikari's aesthetic on here. Here's today's picture:
