The same night...
'My sister... a superhero? How would our parents react to this?'
Sera thought, as she went up the staircase and knocked on the door, as she didn't bring the key *knock knock*
*creak...*
"Geez, how long did you guys talk for?" John began, "Have you eaten yet?"
Sera didn't respond immediately. Instead, she went straight to the purple couch and laid down with a tired sigh, "Two hours, maybe? We ended up talking a lot"
"You don't say" He replied, and sat down next to her feet, "What'd you guys talk about?"
Sera hesitated a little, and just stared at the blank ceiling — her arm resting on her forehead,
"About our relationship. The reason why she takes powers, and the world in general" She replied, "Everything..."
"Was it at least nice to see your sister again?"
Sera gave out a sigh of relief, and smiled. All anxiousness before she met her sister were erased, and her chest felt somewhat lighter, "Yeah... it surprisingly was"
Sera then sat up, wanting to have a serious conversation, "Hey, John?"
"Huh? What's up?"
"My sister, she's actually a superhero... Isn't that crazy?"
"You're joking, right?" He chuckled a bit, and raised an eyebrow
"Why would I?" She asked, "She goes by the name; Mistress Emerald"
John's eyes widened a bit, and he was puzzled hearing that name, "What? Isn't she supposed to dead?"
"What do you mean?"
"I swear I heard that name on the news at some point" He claimed, "And she was said to be murdered"
"R-really?" She was at a disbelief, "Then why did she...?"
"Are you sure it's okay that you're telling me all this?"
"I...I don't know. Did I make a mistake by telling you this?" She tried to reassure herself, "Did she... fake her death or something?"
...
"Let's just sleep on it for now" John replied, "She must've really trusted you, Sera"
Sera managed to calm herself down a bit, "You're right. No point thinking about it. But..." She continued, "I didn't know you actually watch the news, John?"
John chuckled, "I might be stupid from time to time, but I'm not ignorant in the slightest"
Sera laid back down to the couch again, "Anyway, I'm gonna head to sleep"
"Here? In this couch?"
"There's only one bed..." Sera replied, "And I kinda felt bad you slept on the floor because of me"
"Why... Why don't we just share the bed?"
Sera chuckled with a bit of smug, "Yeah, you wish..." She sarcastically said, "Maybe we should buy another bed?"
John gave Sera the disapproving look
"What...?" Sera raised an eyebrow
"You talk like it's the cheapest thing in the world"
Next morning... 7:31 AM
Sera slowly opened her eyes and was met with the ceiling. She slowly sat up and stretched her body that was stiffened from sleeping on the couch
'Maybe I should really buy another bed?' She asked herself, and she gathered her clothes and her toothbrush before she headed to the bathroom, only to find out that John is already occupying it
'Is he... taking a shower? Was he working out in the morning?'
"Hey, John?!" Sera shouted behind the bathroom door
"Yeah?!" His sound muffled slightly
"Can you maybe hurry it up!?" She asked, "I don't wanna be late for school!"
"We can just share the bath, you know?"
"In your dreams, maybe..." She replied coldly
"Then it'll be for the second time"
Sera's eyes widened. She couldn't believe what this boy just said, "W-WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" She yelled from embarrassment, and found herself staring furiously at the blank door
"Woah, what happened to your cold personality?" John sarcastically asked and laughed at her, "I was just kidding, Sera!" He continued his hysterical laugh
...
"Sera...?" He called, but she didn't respond, 'She went sulky, didn't she? Maybe that was a bit too far of me' He thought, but still couldn't help to find it funny
Then, after John was done showering, he wrapped his body with a towel, his head still wet. He opened the door only to be met by a disgusted stare
"Look... I'm sorry, okay?"
"Be sorry at yourself" She headed inside, and was just about to close the door behind her
John raised his eyebrows "Hey you're the one that kissed me"
Sera stiffened herself, and immediately slammed the bathroom door *SLAM!* and John flinched by the banging sound
"Hey if you're going to keep being like this, I'm gonna keep teasing you, you know!?" He shouted behind the door
"...whatever, I don't really care"
"Is that so?"
Later...
As Sera finished her morning shower, she brushed her teeth and immediately changed into her school uniform, and headed out the bathroom only to find John in the living room also wearing the school uniform
"W-wait..." Sera began, "Your suspension is already over?"
"Oh, guess I forgot to tell you, huh?" John replied, "I guess we can finally head to school together for the first time" He brightly smiled, while Sera looked at him. She found herself somewhat happy that he can finally go to school again
'I can't believe this is the same John that brutalized the students'
She thought, but then again, she also brutalized Illena ruthlessly and also would've done the same to Wenqi, if it wasn't for Remi
...
"Sera, what's wrong?"
"Oh it's nothing" Sera replied, and opened the main door leading outside only to be greeted by the cloudy drizzling weather
"Huh? It's raining?"
"Do you have an umbrella?" Sera asked
"Yeah... just one, actually"
Sera sighed, "You're useless"
"Hey, if anything... this is my umbrella, you know?"
"Fine... I'll let you share an umbrella with me, just this one time"
"Again, this is my umbrella we're talking about here?" John stated, as Sera acted like it was hers. But John played it off, and they went to school together under the same umbrella
Wellston Private High School, 8:56 AM
The outside of the school gates were already empty, as the students were already preparing for their first class
As the both headed inside, they were met with many stares. John was a bit irritated by it, while Sera kept her level-headed intact
"Sera, how can you get used to this?" John asked
"I don't. I just look like I am"
"Wait...really?" He raised an eyebrow, "Anyway, are you going to head to the rooftop?"
"Nah. I find it boring now" She replied, "Besides, it's currently raining anyway"
"Oh, you're right..."
"We have the same class, don't we? Let's just give it a go"
Second year classroom
They kept getting stared down everywhere they go, and they have to get used to this, whether they like it or not
Sera went to her usual seat that is next to the windows, while John sits far away from her. But then, an idea struck his head
'Hold on... what am I doing? I'm the King!'
John stood up again immediately after he just sat down, and went to the student that was sitting in front of Sera and glared the student down "Move..."
The student hastily gathered all his stuff, and even tripped his feet from his own table, while Sera just watched
"Wow... nice to be King after all, hm?" Sera asked
John didn't respond. He just sat at his new table and leaned his back against the window, and the teacher was about to have her first session
"Alright, I'm sure you guys are aware..." The teacher spoke up, "There have been some cases in the area that some people lost their powers. So don't take any detours and just head straight home"
John turned his face to Sera "Heh... Since when does teachers care about the students well-beings, am I right?"
Sera chuckled, and just shrugged it off
