Nijah sat in the coffee shop as she waited for him to arrive. She didn't know what she was going to say, do, anything. She put her head down in her phone to see if anything was going on and it was only a few tweets from Sekani which reminded her she needed to unfollow him. On everything.
"Nijah?" She heard and she blinked twice before picking her head up.
"I know you from somewhere." Nijah said squinting her eyes standing up.
"You shorty from the mall." He said and she nodded.
"I knew you looked a tad bit like me, thats why i was looking at you for so long." Nijah chuckled nervously.
"Shit, i just thought you was weird as shit." He shrugged.
"Sooo Nijah and Nomaj." She nodded.
"Nomaj and Nijah, im older den you." He reminded.
"Right." She chuckled.
"You nervous? Stop." He deadpanned. "So, who you staying with?"
"Umm, my parents. Adopted parents Amy and Max."
"The treat you good?" He asked.
"They treat me." She nodded with a small smile.
"Meaning?"
"Meaning it's the best ima get." She said truthfully.
"That's not answering my question." He deadpanned.
"They treat more of a mannequin on display or a trophy. See, my dad works for a company and he was losing sales because people thought he was prejudice or racist so they got a black kid..."
"So they could pull the I'm not racist card." Nomaj finished and she nodded looking down at her fingers.
"They put they hands on you?" He asked.
"When I was younger." She shrugged.
"It was regular ass woopins or it left a mark?"
He asked outta curiosity.
"Umm, I don't really wanna talk about it, umm so mom and dad what are they like?" Nijah asked.
"Pops dead, and mama somewhere we not." Nomaj shrugged.
"I- you dont sound like you really care."
"I don't." He shrugged.
"And what did you mean by mom?"
She asked.
"She somewhere away from me and you. She alive and healthy but we just not cool right now." He shrugged and she nodded.
"I would love to meet her. Only if she wants to meet me." Nijah said and her brother just looked at her.
"I'll try." He sighed.
"But if she doesn't want to meet me that's fine too, I mean I went this long without her I'll be fine." She chuckled softly. He just bit the inside of his jaw and nodded his head.
"So, you have any kids?" Nijah asked.
"1 on the way." He said and she nodded. From there on out they just kept the conversations going and asking each other's questions.

"I know you is not mad at that girl." Mahogany stale faced looking at Sekani.
"Fucking right I'm mad, how she gone cut me off." He frowned.
"You giving off delusional vibes your want ha but youn want ha with nobody else? Make it make sense." Mahogany said squinting her eyes.
"Mmcht, I want ha but I rather not be with her than get with her and cheat cause I know Ian ready to settle down." He admitted.
"Well, fall back and when you ready to settle down holla at her and hopefully she not in a relationship." Mahogany shrugged and Sekani looked at her squintiest his eyes.
"Sigh, whose older here me or you?" Mahogany asked.
"Shut the fuck up and call Nijah fa me." Sekani said.
"I am not."
"And why you not?"
"I'm supposed to be helping her get away from the toxicity not bring it to her." Mahogany said in a duh tone.
"Ill give you $50." He offered.
"$100?" She asked.
"Aight bet."
"Nah $150"
"Pookie."
"Take it or leave it the fuck."
"Mmcht hmm." He said handing her $150. Mahogany took out her phone and FaceTimed Nijah.
"Nomaj give me my phone back pleaseee." They heard Nijah laugh while trying to get her phone and Mahogany smiled.

"Who this is?" Nomaj asked holding Nijah phone up to where she couldn't reach it.
"Pookie who you is my nigga?" Mahogany asked making her voice deep.
"Gir- fix yo voice li dude." Nomaj said laughing giving Nijah her phone back. Nijah got her phone putting her face in the camera smiling.
"You look happyyyy." Mahogany said with a smile.
"I ammmm." Nijah dragged. "Haven't been this happy in the while." She sighed.
"I'm happy for you."
"Thank you, but I'm going to call you back as soon as I make it home." Nijah said and Mahogany nodded before hanging up the phone. She dropped her phone in her lap and tried to muffle her laughter while looking at her brother.
"Aye, you good?" Mahogany asked.
"Get the fuck out my car." He said and she started laughing loudly.
"Wha- what I do?" She asked.
"Who that nigga is?" He asked her thinking she knew he was too.
"How was I supposed to know I know you heard me as him who he was." Mahogany said tucking her bottom lip in her mouth. The look of hurt that was on his face made her wanna die in laughter.
"Say son, you pussy. Why you ain't ask him who he was." Mahogany teased.
"Don't fucking play with me." He glared at her.
"Hmph youn like being with huh? You see how it feel." She scoffed. He wasn't listening to nothing she was saying he was getting on his phone to look at his locations to see if he still had Nijah's.
Jokes on him because she been stopped sharing her location.
"You know most niggas gotta story on why they do what they do. But you on the other don't." Mahogany said amused.
"Ya know they treat girls the way they do because either they got their heartbroken, broken family, not loved properly ya know?" Mahogany asked. "Maybe they dropped you when you were your younger cause that's the only thing I could speak of." Mahogany shrugged.
Mahogany wasn't the type to let nobody play with her brother. But when he was wrong she wouldn't be on his side just because that's her brother. She let him know when he was wrong and she didn't sugar nothing with him. That, she got from her dad.
"Shut the fuck up." He said sternly.
"Oh, you not scaring me mr. my hands are registered."
"Gectcho shit together." Mahogany said getting out the car. "You rather lose a wife for short term girlfriends." She said closing the car door before making her way in the car.
Mahogany actually likes Nijah, she brung out a goofy side in Sekani and she liked that. Plus she knew she was pure and didn't have bad intentions on hurting her brother. But if they didn't end up together she would be just fine with that too, it wasn't her life.
"I'll beat the fuck out Nijah ass, wanna akekeke with a nigga. I'll show ha ass toxic." Sekani said nodding his head.
