Synopsis
After a disease breaks out across the globe, killing over 90% of the human population, the government create a walled-in civilization to protect the remaining survivors called the Enclosure.
In the enclosure, a system was created to maintain peace and prosperity amongst the people. These were called quarters. Quarters are closed off civilizations made up of citizens with similar character traits, and in total there were six:
1. Indulgents
2. Sapients
3. Vulpines
4. Brawns
5. Untouchables
6. Lionhearts
Quarters were made to keep peace amongst the remaining survivors by putting similar mindsets together all while separating them of the plague from the rest of the outside world.
Fifteen years after the outbreak, Kyla Reyes is chosen to participate in her enclosure's annual Mortal Trials. These tests were created by the government to teach children and teens the hardships of the "old world." The Trials are simple. You survive, you move on to the next round. Kyla is focused on one thing - getting through these Trials in one piece. But will that all change when she runs into one of her biggest threats in the competition, Kaiden Ryder? Or more importantly, will she break her number 1 rule?
