(Not everything that happens in this book will not be canon,if I change something it's probably intentional but feel free to let me know anyways just in case it's a mistake on my end...enjoy!)
(Also the dialogue for this y/n will be a bit odd...you'll see in a bit but I assure its apart of his character and will be explained as time goes on...)
Why do people fear fire?
The big body of Water is called the ocean...
Then there is the Earth itself...a giant piece of rock...
And then the Air we breathe...the large invisible Air...essential for all life...
But a big body of Fire takes that all away...
It burns the earth,covering it in flames...
It takes the oxygen out the air making it unbreatheable...
And the sheer heat makes the water itself evaporate...
The most destructive...powerful...most feared element...
Fire...
The cold south pole...the extreme temperatures make inhospitable to most animals and many people but the southern water tribe thrives here..
Making the most of what they have and living off the land...
One of the things they have to do is fish for food...which is where we begin...
Sokka:Katara stop moving the canoe you're gonna mess me up...
Katara:You ever think that the reason it's moving is because you're leaning over it?
She takes off a glove of hers and starts to pick up a sphere of water containing a fish
Katara:Sokka look! I got one!
Sokka:Yea yea...let me just...
He leans over a bit more as he accidentally hits the bubble of water above his head
It pops as the fish falls back into the water
Sokka:Look at what you did!
Katara:So it's my fault...?
Sokka:Yes! Now where is Mr.Bandages?
Katara:Don't say that! You don't know what he may have been through!
Sokka:He stumbles upon the tribe one day you decide to let him in and give him our clothes!
Katara:I had to get him some clean clothes before you made all of them dirty!
Sokka:You trust too easy...
Katara:That's why he's helping us catch fish,so he can show his appreciation! Right-
The person they were speaking of earlier makes his way next to them with his canoe
Covered in bandages completely,he wears the standard Southern Water Tribe attire
The bandages cover his entire body other than his reddish orange eyes
Katara:I'm sorry we never got your name...
Sokka:That wasn't the first thing you asked him?
Katara:No! I was asking him more important questions like "Are you okay?" Or "Do you need help?"
Sokka:He's been here for about a day...plus he rarely talks...
Katara:I don't know why? Maybe its because you don't trust him and he doesn't trust you because of that...
Y/n just stares at them with emotionless eyes
He finally speaks
Y/n:Name...Y/n...
Sokka:So the slient one speaks again!
Y/n:Fish...Eat...Survive...
He pulls up a net full of fish
They all have holes in them
Sokka:We didn't give him a spear...what did you use?
Y/n reaches inside the boat and shows and icicle that is a bit red at the end
Katara:You didn't give him a spear! What did you expect him to catch anything with? His hands?!
Y/n:Hands...not problem...
Y/n takes off his gloves as he looks over his canoe and stares at the water
Katara:Are you gonna be okay,the bandages...
Y/n:You...I like...caring...sympathetic...thank you...
Katara smiles at him
Sokka:Are you gonna just stare at the water and look at your reflection...?
Katara:At least he isn't flexing at himself in his...
Sokka:You see me when I do that?
Suddenly a quick splash is heard as y/n pulls out two fish...
Sokka:Show off...
Katara:If being a show off means the village gets fed then I'm glad y/n is a show off...
Sokka:If that was the case why did we bring you...a girl...
She starts getting out of the canoe
Katara:That's it! Y/n I'm joining you and your canoe!
Sokka:Katara stop!
She turns around as she starts stomping on the ground
Katara doesn't even get to speak as the first couple of stomps crack the ice
The cracks lead to a giant iceberg which cracks as well
Y/n quickly gets out and pushes them out of the way as he lands near them
Y/n helps them both up
Katara:Your hands are really warm...
Sokka:What is that?
Katara:Let's go check it out!
Sokka:Wait!
Sokka follows her
Y/n sighs quietly as he follows them as well
Katara:There is someone in there!
Katara:We need to get him out!
Sokka:Look at him! We need to get out of here!
Y/n grabs Sokka's club from his back
He hands it to Katara
Sokka:Hey that's mine!
Y/n:Katara...strike ice...I catch you..
She gently grabs it
Sokka:You trying to get my sister killed?
Y/n:I'm here...not possible...
She hits it a couple times before it breaks
Air burst out of the iceberg
Katara fly back as y/n catches her and Sokka stays behind y/n to catch him if need be
Katara:Thank you y/n...
Y/n nods as he turns around
Y/n:Sokka...thank you...
Sokka:I did that for Katara...not you...
A large beam of light shoots out of the top of the iceberg as someone falls out
Y/n:Light...alerting others...likely...
A kid jumps out of the ice
"Will you go penguin sledding with me?"
Katara:Uhh sure?
Y/n:Frozen...stopped aging...young...
Sokka:He let every fire nation ship for miles know where we are...
Y/n:Relax...unintentional...
"The name is Aang...who are you...
Katara:I'm Katara...that over that is my brother,and then the last one is y/n...
Y/n gives a small wave
Sokka:We should get back to the tribe...
Katara:Yea Aang,hop on a canoe-
Y/n:Destroyed...with crash...
The ground starts to shake a bit as a flying bison emerges
Aang:Appa!
Sokka:What is that?
Y/n:Flying Bison...read about...
Sokka:I'm surprised you can read...
Y/n turns around and squints his eyes in annoyance
Y/n:Me...kill you...easy...
Aang sneezes as he zips into the air
Katara:You're a airbender!
Sokka:That's it! I'm going home! I'm not dealing with the light shows,airbender and flying bison...
He notices they are stranded on the peice of ice they float on
Aang:Well if you guys are stuck then Appa and I can get you out of here!
A burst of air propels Aang on top of Appa
Katara:That'd be awesome!
She excitedly climbs onto the top of Appa
Katara helps y/n up
Y/n:Katara...very generous...thank you...
Katara smiles at him once again
Sokka:I'm not getting on that thing!
Y/n:Temperature...kill you...
Sokka:Well I-
He stops
Katara:You can't argue with that...now hop on...but first grab the fish...
Sokka:Oh you saved the fish y/n...
Katara:See? Just give him a chance...
Sokka:Yea yea...
Sokka hesitantly gets on as he grabs the fish net and Y/n and Katara both help him up
Aang:All right! Appa! Yip-Yip!
Appa jumps into the air
But he immediately belly flops into the water
Sokka:Wow nice flying...
Aang:He's just tired,after he gets his rest he'll he soaring through the sky!
Katara:We should all get some rest too it'll take about a day to arrive back home...
Everyone starts to get comfortable as the slowly head home
After a few minutes Katara gets up
Katara:Aang,I was wondering if you knew the avatar being an airbender and all?
Aang:Uhh no..I knew people that knew him but I don't...sorry...
Katara:Okay thanks...
She lays back down
Y/n goes to sleep as he has a dream
"You will find it and try your best to return here so you can protect her for as long as she lives,it will make you immortal and if you continue to train will give you the power to destroy the avatar..."
Y/n opens his eyes abruptly to see he doesnt have his shirt on but his bandages remain the same
Katara's voice is heard from outside
Katara:Y/n are you up?
Y/n:Yes...
Katara:Great! Put a shirt on so you can properly meet the tribe! Aang already did!
Y/n looks around as he stretches a bit
He notices that his bag he arrived with is gone
He quickly puts on the water tribe coat and goes outside
He sees his bag being held by the children of the tribe
He runs over and snatches the bag
Children:Hey!
Y/n:Bag...dangerous...
Child:How?
He pulls out two items as he takes out two gauntlets
He rolls the sleeves of his coat and puts them on
Wrist blades emerge from the top and bottom of both
He retracts them and puts his sleeves down
Y/n:Blades...dangerous...
Katara:Well that was an...interesting way to introduce yourself y/n...
Sokka:At least it's better than what Aang has...all he has is plank...you can't stab someone with that...
Aang:Its not for stabbing it's for airbending...
He takes it from him as it opens up
Child:Magic trick! Do it again!
Aang:Its not magic...its airbending! Watch!
Sokka:Last time I checked...humans can't fly...
Y/n:Sokka...fly...after thrown...
Aang jumps into air as he starts to fly like a kite
Everyone watches with interest
He eventually crashes into a snow structure
Sokka:My watchtower!
Sokka and Katara run up as y/n takes his time
Katara turns around and sees y/n's footsteps are deeper than everyone else's
Aang gets up quickly
Katara:That was amazing!
Sokka:Great! You're an airbender,Katara's a waterbender and y/n is...well y/n...together you can all waste time all day...
Aang:You're a waterbender!
Katara:Kind of...
An elderly woman grabs Katara's hand
Katara:Gran Gran!
Gran Gran:You have chores to do...
Once they get away a bit Katara speaks again
Katara:I'm telling you Gran Gran...Aang is the real thing...I finally found a bender to teach me,amd we can trust y/n...
Gran Gran:Do not put all your faith in those two but they are special...that y/n boy is...
Katara:What Gran Gran...what is he?
Gran Gran:You noticed the footsteps too...
Katara looks at them again
Katara:Yes I saw them...
Gran Gran:When that boy walked by I felt a warm presence...
Katara:His hands were pretty warm...
Gran Gran:Be careful...
She looks at y/n in the distance sitting down
Katara:Y/n...
Sokka:Y/n come with me you're going to help teach the boys of the tribe...
Y/n nods as he stands up and follows Sokka not too far
The boys of the tribe are already gathered
Sokka:The village is depending on us! And while everyone is fighting out there,we need to protect the village here! What about you y/n...any advice? Words of wisdom?
Y/n:If target..not spotted...you are target...
One of the boys raises his hand
Boy:Can I go to the bathroom?
Sokka:Make it fast! Who else needs to go?
The rest of the boys raise their hands...
When y/n and Sokka turn around they see Aang using Appa's tail like a slide as the others join him...
Sokka:We are in the middle of a war and think it's time to joke around!
Aang drops down
Aang:War? What war?
Sokka:Seriously?
Aang shouts abruptly
Aang:Penguin!
He starts to run after it...
Katara:I'll go after him...
Sokka:Fine by us? Right y/n?
He turns around and sees y/n going down Appa's tail
Sokka:What are you doing!
Y/n:Not...sliding...
Sokka:Come on we still have chores to do...
Y/n:We...?
Timeskip
Sokka:Just a little more and...done!
He looks at the watch tower
Sokka:Good as new! Thanks y/n...
Y/n nods his head
A bright light is seen behind them
Y/n looks up
Sokka:Woah!
Y/n:Fire navy...flare...
He points to the tribe
Y/n:Sokka...warn tribe...trouble...soon...
