Press Room
The press room went silent again, once all the student went to their own classes after having their weekly meeting for everyone to have at least one report to hand in. Cecile was just doing the last finishing touches, until someone suddenly entered the press without knocking first *creak*
"What is it this time?" Cecile mumbled to herself. She didn't see the person that entered beforehand, and when she did, she sighed loudly
"Can I help you?" Cecile asked condescendingly. It was the Wellston's Jack, Arlo.
"Cecile... what are you doing here?" Arlo asked. She wasn't supposed to step foot to the press ever again since she disobeyed his orders
"Why am I not? John already approved it, so what can you do about it?" Cecile talked back. No fears were detected on Cecile's expression
Arlo couldn't do anything. He clenched his fists knowing that fact. The hierarchy system that he devotes to really does backfire him this time around. Nothing he says gets through to anyone anymore
"...And I was just doing my job bringing unbiased news to people! What about you? You dismissed me just because I was doing my job correctly?"
Cecile was annoyed. She resented his way of leadership recently. It's like he wasn't making any impact to the school anymore, yet still gives orders around
"It's all because of John! Don't you get it?"
"So you've dismissed me from the press out of fear? It's not like I'm exaggerating any news just to bring people down"
She was right. Arlo realized that all Cecile did was just doing her job correctly. News aren't meant to be hidden after all. He loosened up his fists and calmed down
"Right... I'm sorry"
He felt ashamed of himself. He shouldn't have dismissed her. He felt like all his decisions he made up to this point was a mistake. What's more of a mistake was when he decided to betray John
John was all genuine about becoming friends with him. They could've gotten along with each other easily, and none of this would've happened in the first place
"Huh?" Cecile was dumbfounded. She didn't believe that Arlo would just give in to her words so easily. Arlo turned around, and quietly left the press

Rooftop
Seraphina finally gained the chance to spend her time back at the rooftop again. It felt like it's been ages... but there was no one she could talk to this time. But thankfully, she just bought herself a brand new phone last week
'Thank god I got myself a new phone. Now what was his number again?'
She thought. She didn't remember his number, but there was no need to. Once she logged in to her old 'Chat ID' she could still see their old conversations before all the kidnaping happened
But the last bit of those old texts brought back bad memories. It was when Illena pretended to be Sera when she texted John when she was tied down to a wooden pole
"Tch..."
Just the thought of it makes her sick. After that, she decided to call John *beep....bee--*. John answered immediately
The sound of his bed sheet could be heard. He got up from his bed with excitement "Sera?!"
"Did you just wake up? It's already 12PM, you know?" She sarcastically said. Just hearing his stupid voice was enough to make her day, even though the sky was dark and cloudy
"Y-yeah, but nevermind that. You bought a new phone?"
"Yeah. I was kinda in a dilemma, but I'm glad I did"
"Aren't you worried that some garbage is going to bully you and 'accidentally' break your phone again?" John asked. Little did he know that his helpless friend wasn't so 'helpless' anymore
"Don't worry. There's no way that would ever happen again"
"Huh? What do you mean by that?"
Sera smirked. She couldn't wait to hear his reactions once she tells him about it "I actually have my powers back"
..... the line went silent for a bit
"No way... you're kidding right? It's not funny, you know?" John's voice was a bit pessimistic. It was too good to be true after all
"It's up to you if you want to believe it or not" Sera shrugged, even though John couldn't see her
"I'll see it for myself when I go back. No wonder your voice sounded so happy. I almost forgotten that part of you" John said. It was true that Sera was constantly depressed once she knew the harsh reality
"Hey, I could say the same thing to you. Did something good happen in New Bostin?"
..... "It's nothing"
"Come on, that was a weak response. Just tell me about it"
"It's just... I just happened to make up with an old friend that I mentioned" John said halfheartedly. But Sera knows that it was a serious matter. And for that, she was relieved
"That's good to hear"
..... "So? How's it been at Wellsto--" John's voice was cut out. It turned out that Sera's phone battery ran dry
'Crap...' Sera activated her powers, in an attempt to rewind some energies back into the battery, and it was back to 16%
As she turned on her phone, the noticed the door was being opened slowly. Suddenly, Remi's head popped out from the small gap
"Remi?"
"S-Seraphina... Can I talk to you for a minute?"
'Why is she so nervous? Is it because my powers are back? Or maybe it was because of that run-in we had yesterday'
Sera thought. She did realize that her actions yesterday was a bit out of line in Remi's eyes. But there was no way Sera would ever pity them
"Sure" Sera nodded. Remi then went and took a sit next to her, with her face full of worry
"I think... Blyke's in danger"
"Danger? What do you mean?" Sera asked confused. how could Blyke be in danger? Did some student harm him or something?
"He went missing since yesterday night, we think he might be going out as a vigilante, but he hasn't come back since"
"Blyke? He went out there alone?" Asked Sera surprised. Back when she first heard that Remi and her friends were vigilantes was already shocking enough, but Blyke going out alone was insane
"I-I don't know what's gotten into him! Seraphina... since you have your powers back, can you please help us find him? Asked Remi while bowing her head
There was no way Sera could ever reject her. Even without Remi's favor, she already thought about becoming a superhero. She felt like she took her powers for granted all this time after all. So this was just a good excuse to become one
"Yeah, sure thing"
"W-wait, really?!" Said Remi full of excitement. She couldn't believe she actually agreed that easily "B-but you don't have the clothes and mask to cover up your identity though"
"Don't worry. I'll just use John's instead"
Remi gasped "Y-you mean his Joker mask?"
"No... I meant the clothings he used when he helped you pursuing Ember"
"O-oh... right."
